The Historian can correct me if I'm wrong, but:

The first printing rulebook has a red cover.
The second printing rulebook has a bluish-green cover, with errata printed on the inside front cover.

Correct. The only difference is the rulebook, which you can't tell from a sealed box.

All I meant by the other thing was that to me, noting the thick box vs. the thin box is the easier tell. There is no third or later printing without the Moorcock credit/TM that I know of.

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

Not sure how I've never stumbled across ebay Collections before... but I found this user's collections and I enjoyed looking through the obscure (but, sadly, mostly-ended) auctions.

If aslangame77 is a member here, you have great taste!

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

That's a heck of a lot of pretty rare stuff. I did notice he listed DG as a 1st print; it is a 3rd. That is by far the highest price I've ever seen for that printing.

Nice David!

I hesitated twice, then decided not to bid considering shipping cost to France. Very glad he went to you  :)

That is stupidly rare. I had the 1st printing quite a while back and I don't recall ever seeing another one. Anyone here have one?
I was always partial to Wilmark stuff, probably because of the hideous art.

In our hobby, that pretty much goes without saying.

I will have to check. John's game store is just down the road from me and I used to go there on a regular basis from the mid-80's on.

I've got one too in excellent shape - I'll have to dig it out to see if it is numbered.  I see #41 was posted on the Tome.  I remember a few others but probably have only seen about half a dozen copies.  The first printings of these items are much harder to find than the second prints.

Hmm, works for me... what I did was stumble on ebay -> collections, then found this user aslan77 who had saved a number of cool completed small-press and non--tsr rpg auctions.
