I found out on Friday that my local publisher was closed for the Thanksgiving holiday (extended)... I was hoping to get another proof with the last change made - I took GreyM's (and others) recommendation to create a white fold line but need to see how it will look.  I should have a proof on Monday.  If it looks good, I'll get them printed.  [the fold was my only issue so as long as the white spine is okay, it's a go]

More pics on Monday... enjoy the weekend everyone!

Good morning all!

My latest cover layout has been sent to the printer this morning.  They usually turn around the proof in a day - if these look good, I'll order a print run.  I originally was going to print 60 copies, but I think I'll increase it to 65 just in case I need a few extras.

Thanks,

Thom

I agree that the blue artwork against the blue cover looks great!

I know absolutely nothing about publishing/printing of books but I am surprised the print house finds that condition acceptable. It seems like the result of using heavy cardstock on a home printer then folding it.

I think a full blue cover would look best but a small white band on the spine will certainly not detract from the aesthetic of the module.

So in a nutshell great job and thanks for the updates. I look forward to the completed work!

Yes, I really like the blue as well.  I'm still waiting on the print proof (turns out, when a family-run print business decides to take a long Thanksgiving holiday, they mean a LONG holiday, like a week).

I've updated the the cover to include a thin white band on the spine - I'm just waiting to see how it turns out.

If they do a good job with this, I'll discuss future work with color cardstock (they don't offer that currently, at least not in the weight I'm using for the cover).  tbd.

Thanks!

Thom

*** EDIT 12/6/2014 - I did get the new print proof yesterday - it's beautiful!  I haven't had a moment with the home PC to upload the pictures (and the first gen iphone won't do it), but should be able to later today.  Pretty nice! ***

I just got off the phone with the printer - apparently they are behind after their long holiday... As they say, the squeaky wheel gets the grease - my new print proof will be available this afternoon.  :-)

Pics to show up later today...

Thanks!

Thom

Okay, I owe all of you pictures still -  I'll try to get them uploaded tonight in between painting (bathroom renovation hell)...

Meanwhile, the printing of 70 has been ordered - they are supposed to print them on Wednesday (fingers crossed).

Thanks,

Thom

*** EDIT 12/12: I picked up the books yesterday afternoon.  I'm going to start signing/numbering them tonight, and packaging them up this weekend for a staged mailing next week (Mon-Wed).  ***

A quick note:  books are printed, ready for pickup this morning.  I'll have them in my hands this afternoon!

All the front pages, signed and numbered...

Notice my play copy has some nasty print smudging.

More than half the books were sent today (too many, and my rural post office employees and customers freak out!)...

The other half goes tomorrow, won't need Wednesday for shipping.

Please let me know when you get them!

The other half of the books left today - all are in the mail.  I suspect those of you on the east coast will start to see them in a few days.

Thanks again!  This community is indeed great.

My wife said mine arrived in the mail but I'm stuck in the hospital recovering from stupid appendicitis!   Thanks Thom, can't wait to check it out and give it a read.

Got my books the other day.  They arrived intact.  Cover looks really nice.  Plan to check it out over the holidays.
