Why so much?!? These were sitting at $20 with less than 10 seconds left, so I bid just less than $30 with 5 seconds left ... for one second it looked like I might win these ... then BOOM, the auction ended at $68 ... WTF?!? Are these mags really THAT collectible or valuable?

I grabbed them.  I do not know if they hold that value, but to me being able to grab them all in one auction was worth it.  Comes out to $11 dollars apiece.

I thought the 1st print of issue #1 was a limited edition?

Dang I so love giving Martin a good shot in the nuts......

Yes later 1st printings have a blue cover I believe (I think that's the cover I have when I bought my set from them earlier this year).  So while you can no longer get the limited first print, all the other issues are still for sale from the author.  These are worth buying, it's a true labor of love and could find it's way to being a collectible one day in the future.

I wonder what the spike in sales of Crawl are going to be today?

Didn't know it existed but I just bought a set.

Small press and third-party DCC RPG stuff, fun to collect, affordable, and we can all get in from the beginning :). Rev Dak's Crawl, Purple Duck, Thick Skull Aventures... All recommended :)

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Hi, Rev. Dak here,

Thanks for the interest in my zine. I've never participated in the forums, but I do trawl the archives as I'm a collector myself. So let me clarify what's up with Crawl! They're all available, and pretty much "evergreen", at least for now. Except for #1. It was the first zine and I used different printers so the quality varied depending on the printer and paper I used and other factors. There were 2 covers. The limited "Heavy Metal" edition that was black printed on black, with a "gold seal" so you could see what it was. There were 80 copies of that, total. There are about 600 or so copies of the regular blue cover, all of them are in the wild except the last of the stock, I have about 25 or so left and that'll be it for that printing. There will be a 2nd printing, that is slightly expanded, that I haven't announced yet, but when the final stock of the 1st print sells out, I'll be announcing the new print, which will be called a Special Edition. Again, that hasn't been announced yet, but I'm seeing being released sometime this year, or early next year.

I do have to admit that I have a few copies of the Black-on-black Limited edition covers left, about 4 copies. That's it. There have been inquiries about it, but I am saving them for special purposes. I also don't want to de-value Martin's investment by making them available cheap or easily. I think folks can see that as fair. But I would like to give one of you an opportunity to buy a copy for a good cause.

The typhoon in the Philippines. I am willing to put one on auction and have all the proceeds go to Doctors without Borders. But I don't know where to start. I have reservations about using Ebay. If anyone has any suggestions of what website or tool to use to run an auction, I'd like to hear it.

Let me know, thanks.

Someone will recommend  http://rpgmarketplace.com/ because there are no fees for you, but frankly, I think you would get a higher overall intake on eBay.  I applaud your interest in helping folks in the Philippines. 8)

Also, thanks for providing a little more info on Crawl. :)

I ordered 3 sets this summer so I could display/sell them at NTRPG con (always helping out smaller DIY type operations) and hopefully get the word out....well, I kept one set, Bill Webb bought the other set within about 5 minutes of the con setting up, and I immediately sold the third set to someone else!  I might order a couple more bundles so I can have a few on hand for next year, maybe they'll last a little longer!

This isn't a fanzine but another small press operation by Geoffrey Mckinney.  Now I know what you are thinking Geoffrey's stuff is too out there, well these are written by other people who submitted stuff to him based on the concept it can't just be another generic dungeon adventure. The price is right on these, and frankly all three adventures I've read (haven't got the 4th one yet) look like loads of fun to run....and are definitely not boring generic dungeon crawls.  Check them out!

EDIT:  I just read in his comments only PDFs are available right now. I'd book mark the page and come back.....

I have these too, they're totally worth it. For a good list of zine/micro-press RPG stuff, check out Rended Press:

Rended Press: Old School Zines

Lots of good stuff (I have almost everything except the Alarums & Excursions stuff (which is really confusing to buy.)
