With the recent Reaper KS, I'm looking now for somewhere sensible to store my minis when they arrive. On the basis that they'll most likely be used with my two boys, I'm considering whether I'll paint them or not.
But is it possible to get the foam you've used? I've looked at the old GW carry cases, but at £15+ +shipping, they'll only hold around 100 minis anyway.
Any advice? I do have a ton of the old Citadel minis from BitD so I could probably do with getting them safe stored as well, as currently they are just wrapped and boxed.

I've been meaning to buy a K&R case for some time now - I'm still hauling my minis around in my trusty old Chessex boxes. K&R looks like they have plenty of options for cases and inserts, and they seem downright affordable (at least if you go the card case route). There are also a couple of other choices that come to mind, such as BattleFoam (http://battlefoam.com/) and Sabol (http://www.saboldesigns.net/home.html). Hopefully you find one that suits you.

While the Battlefoam cases are expensive, they are the best in my opinion, at least for me. I go into great detail about why I chose this case over others here (page three of the thread):

Also, Battlefoam does a 25% off sale every Black Friday (Friday after Thanksgiving). :)

Here's one for sale on eBay for $240.00 including shipping (to the US). That's only somewhat cheaper and you don't get to pick your trays. :-|

It's the foam I think that's my issue. The KR foam looks good, but accessing the site via my iPhone it's not clear how big the cutouts are, or how many? I'm guessing they're standard 25-28mm suitability so the Reaper minis would go in ok. £16.99 for several racks of foam appears to be ok?

I looked over the web-site and it's not nearly as intuitive as the Battlefoam site.  However, they do appear less expensive than Battlefoam.  Then again, almost everybody is cheaper than Battlefoam.   :?

Anyway, they have a variety of trays, and there is a place on the web-site where they describe the dimensions of their foam trays.  The trays that are "23mm deep, each 52mm x 32mm" is probably what you want to use for 28mm minis overall.  However, if you look again at my tray arrangement, I have a wide variety of trays to accommodate everything.  I wish you the best as you find what works best for you.   8)

Thanks for the pointers, I'm going to take a good look shortly on my laptop and get a decent idea. I'll get as something in place before the Reapers start arriving

Cheers again :)

And since the Reaper Kickstarter minis won't arrive until March,    you have plenty of time to make the right decision for you.

I use the aluminium KR Multicase (double) to store my minis. Highly recommended.

Depends on the size of tray used. For 25mm figures you can get trays of 40 spaces so, 8 trays or 320 minitures in a case.
