THE QUEST - Icarus Games 1984

I did some research on The Quest after I won a copy for cheap on Ebay.

I found a link to an online seller who has copies listed:

The Decision Games page you are looking for cannot be found

The way the internet works, there may or may not be more copies available.

Anyone interested ought to follow the link and snap up copies if they are still available.

Jeff's Game Blog is also an interesting read at this link:

The font and (lack of) artwork on the first one make it look like a Fifth Cycle product, and a visit to the Noble Knight site verifies that.

The last one (a Darkwood supplement) is Robin-Hood-style role-playing.  The auction description mentions "Contains detailed maps and information on Nottingham and Nottingham Castle."  Noble Knight confirms this as well.

I don't believe that either is particularly valuable, though Fifth Cycle products are more scarce.

Been looking for one of these for awhile, and by the time I got around to trying to buy Badmike's they were all gone.  I think that leaves Cavaliers and Roundheads as my big outlier among the non-D&D TSR items.  Sigh....

I was happy to win these two modules.  Condition is not perfect, but then I am not really a perfect collector.

This lot came in the mail yesterday.

As for the seller...very very very good packaging, and excellent communication all around.  Fast shipping as well.

The two modules are interesting because they are not single adventures.  Each one of the Game Master publications is sort of like a magazine, with an extra adventure and some other things common to magazines....like advertisments.

The one with the munched upper spine was obviously placed upright in an open box with other game materials.  It got munched because both publications are about half an inch taller than standard modules.  Metrics?  Anyway...the munching is bad for collectors, but not for a gamer collector like me.

I have not seen Games Workshop anywhere on the publications, but it is obvious they come from the same people.  Does anyone know any of the details?

I bid on this because it was cheap and the shipping was right.

Is this any big deal?

The price looks really good.  I've looked at those a couple of times but I don't really know what they are.

Someone else here had a Silverdawn, IIRC, without the map. Does anyone else have the modules?

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

What's weird is why they are so rare. They're not looseleaf, so you would assume they would not be tossed or destroyed.

I'm not sure why they are so rare either.  They were the basis or for a play by mail game from a company that expanded their play by mail into a career.  They still exist and do computerized software gaming.
