Shadow World Product List

These are pretty good. I've played Rolemaster, but never in any of these modules however.

Tadashi and I met for dinner tonight, and he's going to reprint TG.  Still no timeline, but he fully plans to bring it back.  My hunch is that it'll be later in the fall, after things have calmed down in his day job.

Here is on that I was curious about for a little while and still a cheapy.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

It actually does contain D&D stats for the characters, monsters, magics, etc.

The back even has a thumbs up quote from Gary Gygax :)

A thumbs up quote from Gygax is not necessarily a strong selling point.

He gave his thumbs up to the Mayfair version of City State of the Invincible Overlord...an effort that almost did for Judges Guild what the Castle Greyhawk comedy module almost did to Gygax.

Yay!  I won Better Games' Era Ten, so I have finally completed collecting their Free-Style Roleplay Trilogy (fantasy, modern superhero, science fiction):

. . .
** expired/removed eBay auction **

FYI, each part of the Trilogy should be three photocopied 8-1/2" x 11" booklets plus some photocopied sheets plus the 11" x 17" outer cover.

If anyone has Better Games' Crimson Cutlass, PM me . . .

I've been looking for a copy of Crimson Cutlass for a while now too.  The only one I have seen go on Ebay was sold with a copy of 7th Sea Pirate Nations.

There are also a few other Era Ten books that I think came out separately:

Era Ten Supplement Guardians of Sol
Era Ten Supplement Independents of S&R Group

I think the Guardians of Sol book is an expanded version of something printed in Space Gamer/Fantasy Gamer #5.

If we are thinking of the same auction, that lot was sold within the past 12 months.  I assumed that others had appeared in the preceding years and that I had just missed them.  Since then I have waited for another copy of Crimson Cutlass to appear on eBay . . .

Getting the three main sets was difficult enough!

"Reprinting" these modules wouldn't be difficult.  The rules would go through a second generation of photocopying, the colored sheets would turn grey, and a double-sided color copy could be made of the cover.

Hmmm . . . IIRC, the rulebooks do say that photocopying is OK for use but not resale.  I'll have to check that when I get home.

I've got mine handy and they would still like you to buy additional copies from them.  If you can't wait for the order and want to make a personal copy , then they ask that you send them your name and address and $2 for the royalty.

I think that Guardians of Sol must have been expanded in the Better Games release since it is about 76 pages including covers.  Independents of S&R Group is 68 pages - probably too long for a magazine.

There are also multiple prints of the Designing Scenarios and Encounters Scenarios books if you are a print run junkie :)  I think they were sold both in the Era Ten and Barony 3 book sets and sold separately.

I am still looking for the Avengers of Justice set.  I see there is a set on Abe for $35 but I don't want to pay that much :)

Does Better Games really exist?  They have that website that mentions their RPGs and the Space and Fantasy Gamer magazine, but do they really still exist?  Long ago I sent e-mail asking about their games, and I never received a response.

Yeah, that's a little pricey.  The Avengers of Justice cover is actually thick, laminated, and useful, as opposed to the Barony cover.  Other than that, it's the same quality inside.

I have tried to contact the Better Games people as well but have had no success.  I even sent a letter to address listed in the book but did not receive a response so I am guessing that they are no longer around.

Well they look quite interesting...

I have Crimson Cutlass, they were selling there left over stock on ebay quite a few years ago, it was only the 3 books not the boxed set they come in unfortunatly...

Thanks.  I almost jumped on the BIN, but made an offer, and saved a little more....

Nice. Titan was actually the second item I ever bought on Ebay about five or six years ago. I got a complete and VF copy for $47. Shows how some of these items are going up in price. It is a great game. Takes a full day to play but is a lot of fun! :)
