Wow, Christmas already?

:)

Nice assortment!  What is the black & silver book above Tekumel?  and please tell me who Lands of Adventure is by? (looks similar to Arneson's Adventures in Fantasy, but can't quite make it out)

Congrats!

Land of Adventure is by Lee Gold. He wrote Land of the Rising Sun too, and was one editor of Alarums and Excursions as well.

The black and silver book is Taiga by Burger Games
Taiga - RPGnet  RPG Game Index

(I got several other RPGs like this one in this lot, as Spookshow, Attack of the Human, Asylum, Of Gods and Men, etc, but did not pictured them)

Good to see a nice copy of it too.
My copy has a damaged Box though the books are in excellent condition.

Lands of Adventure is a Box Set.
Published by Fantasy Games Unlimited, 1983.
Design: Lee Gold. (Yes, she is a woman)
Contents include:
A Rules Book, a one sided Character Sheet, and another book (Called Culture Pack).
The Culture Pack offers adventure settings in Mythic Greece, Medieval England, and an additional section for the world of King Arthur.
Not a hard to learn rules set and the adventure settings seem very interesting.
They look to be somewhat more Lore based (Literature and Historically speaking) than most fantasy RPGs.

Thanks for posting those pics. Looks like that art is by Bill Willingham, previously of TSR. I wouldn't have recognized it without his signature; it's different from his TSR work (less comic book-styled). Willingham also did some work for Villians and Vigilantes for FGU (along with Jeff Dee).

Even without the signature, I'd know it was his work - something about the downward look the woman on the cover has.

I have the first printing of Taiga, a Kinkos-like tape-bound copy (like the first Chaosium monographs).

Didn't know that there was a previous printing.
Could you post a pic? I would be glad to see what does it look like.

What are the differences? Different covers?

As for Land of Adventure, I have an extra copy for sale (I already have one in SW). As well as the 2 Complete Dungeon Master, Arduin, Claw Law: Arms Law and Jorune  boxed sets, and Tekumel source book 1 and 2.
I will post in classified soon.

Don't forget the cheap dice like in all FGU games. Included 2D6 and 2D20

IIRC I got my copy from the author/publisher, so it's probably the EU one.

I won't be able to do that for a few weeks:  I'm prepping for North TX the rest of the weekend and week.  I'm pretty sure I still have that book, unlike my original French Nephlim, which I traded away some years ago, alas.

Sorry my set did not come to me with any dice.
Good to know this though, so thanks.

Actually, all FGU boxed sets come with dice. So if dice are not included in a set, they are missing. And they are oftenly missing.
They look very cheap dice, smallest than AH ones.

I love the midkemia press books. This is the low glitz and gloss style that I would have loved to see. Seems like we have taken a 20 year detour to get back to the roots of AD&D with more independent releases like Bill's incredible pacesetter line.

Recently stockpiled some Warhammer Fantasy Battle that I haven't had time to get into yet, but always loved 40k. This was a fantastic deal.
