Game Merchandising is a goldmine of info about the games industry of the time from a business point of view (retailer, distributor, publisher): they had A LOT of news coverage, many photos of products and events, some really excellent articles about selling games, reports, selling charts, retailers' comments, publisher's plans and much more. It will be one of the most treasured periodicals in my collection. [/i]

They probably would have been a lot cheaper if I didn't bid

I never tried earthdawn when it came out though it seemed like a cool campaign idea (don't know about the game system itself) and this lot seemed like a perfect way to try it out.

was doing a google search and a link to some comments here popped up. Pyramid of Light was a module i wrote at the request of Dave Arneson as one of the tournament rounds for a gaming convention in the 1980s (i forget which one). when it was run, it was done as a D&D module, but when we tried to publish it in our magazine - Adventure Gaming - TSR objected saying certain material was copyrighted. so i redid it, with some help, making it generic.
it was published as an insert to one of the issues of Adventure Gaming. the editor was Tim Kask (former editor of TSR's The Dragon), i was asst ed and marketing director, and it was published out of cincinnati, oh.
as an interesting side note, the magazine shared the same building as Ral Partha.
boy, did this ever bring back memories lol.

Still not sure who got them. But at least we got to see what 1st prints of these items look like. I am still looking for the Overland Encounter Levels 4-8 to complete a set of Fantasy Factory items.
