That reminds me of the "chore" that I have been putting off for over a year now.  I have a (Huge) box full of battletech stuff that I got last year from a local source.  (If I were allowed to purchase his stuff he wanted me to take it ALL even though I have just never been able to develop an interest in Mech type games)   Several box sets, loose manuals, etc.  I keep thinking I need to sort through it, research it, figure out completeness (a big part of the job with all those little cardstock figures) and just list the batch on ebay so someone who would enjoy it will get ahold of it.  Seeing that some of the battletech stuff actually gets nice  prices is an inspiration, maybe I'll start working on it while watching the ball games this weekend. =)

Yes,  a reseller can't get by on Dungeons & Dragons alone.  Well, I guess they can, but where's the fun in that?  All this cool stuff out there to learn about - I've sold so much BattleTech, it almost seems like I used to play it!  :D

BattleTech sells great though.  It's one of the top RPG sellers out there (along with Warhammer Fantasy & Changeling).

I wish I could afford more Battletech stuff.  I dont play and never have.  Simply because it is so dang expensive with all the miniatures and terrain.  What I really like about Battletech/Mechwarrior is the depth and historical background of the game.  I love the detailed blueprints of the different 'mechs and other vehicles and the different personas that fill the game universe.  Actually got me interested in reading some of the earlier novels as well.

RG, if you want to try offloading some of it before putting it on Ebay, post it in classifieds.  I would love to know what you have.

and

Just came today and they freaking pristine with original mailing covers. And by pristine, I mean perfect. Magazines are always a gambe but these two are the best I have seen.

Issue 10 reviews Outland, Escape from New York and DragonSlayer movies. I can't wait to read those!

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Thanks for the cross-link Harami!   I thought about going higher but I did not think it would matter.  I think Frank's bid is somewhere around of the true value of this product.

Regarding the link to the previous discussion, did anyone try to contact the author and purchase it directly as Dathon suggested?

Yeah, he would've beat me, too; $42 vs. $37.

Not that I know... yet!

Certainly sounded interesting and I'm always happy to try to add a little flavor to the collection where possible (even if it ain't a G2-squared :P).

Definitely rare for that era (and a pat on the back to the seller for having such good condition goods!). Image

Think I'd better give up on Ares, too. I miss the best sales every time!

I was debating even bidding that much for Tombs of Valla. I know the copies the author sells go for far less. I'll get around to dropping him an e-mail and getting one.
$74 is VERY high.

Really, guys, if you want Tombs of Valla you can probably still contact Clegg and get them for $10 or so.  And you can pick up Notnaidag Robber Headquarters at the same time.

OK, I take the hint! Worth a try, even if it turns out they don't have any left.
Thanks.... :)

They are tough as hell to get at a decent price. I try to watch for lot or group sale. Problem is there seems to be no consistency in the bidders. There is no telling who is gonna bid and how high 8O

Crap there were only 17 issues plus a couple special issues, you wouldn't think it would be so hard to get them...I've been hunting for going on two years... 8O

This one finally arrived.  The item itself is interesting, but I'm not posting this for the price I got it for.  Take a close look at the description.  Holy sh*t, now that's an interesting history.

Nothing special about the game, but I was curious about the Gen Con item. Turns out to be GC 1981 Prereg/program in unopened pristine condition. My first GC was 1982 so I was interested. The entire program is 12 pages!

For those who care:

46 RPG events - that is all rpgs - D&D, Gamma World, Boot Hill, Elementary Watson(?).

14 Miniature events - fantasy to WWII

20 Multi-player Board Games - includes newly released (demos) of TSR minigames Saga, Vampyre

12 Two-player Board Games

Auction and 7 seminars, panels etc.

That was it.

Many of the events were DM'd or GM'd by TSR staff including Dave Cook, Len Lakofka, Schick and others.

My first GC was the next year, and I have to say I remember it being a lot larger than this...but I was only 17.

Snagged 4 Kithbooks with Buy it Now.  (Didn't beat Marlith to the Pooka book though).
