I knew you could do an advanced search to search for items by bidders, but I didn't see how that would help you ID who bid on a particular transaction (with the hidden usernames) unless you happened to hit on one of the bidders in that auction (because you knew that grodog_of_greyhawk would bid on GH tourney, or somesuch).

Well -- no surprise here to Badmike -- I overpaid for this.  But I still think it's pretty cool.   8)   Phil Foglio was actually nominated for a Hugo for Best Dramatic Presentation for this in 1976.  He and Bob Asprin apparently would go to various conventions and do dramatic readings while projecting the slides of the book.

I don't know if anyone else will care, but I remember being intrigued by the ads for this back in the days I read Dragon regularly.  It's a fun find for me, anyway.

Cool - IIRC the review in White Dwarf was rather scathing!

I just reread it (WD86).  I wouldn't say scathing.  Mixed, maybe.

I'm not really worried about playability - I've been waiting 20+ years just to read this.  And yes, there were just those two supplements; another reason I pulled the trigger on this auction.

Martin

Martin,

I sold one last year for around $110 in same general condition. So I am thinking demand might have decreased.
Still a great buy.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Wow - great price. I paid $25 for just the base set at GenCon last year. I bought it mostly for the nostalgia (had the box back in the 80's) and also because I've tossed around the idea of a con game version of Red Dawn.

I think the location the auction was listed (Books>Fiction Books) has more to do with the low price than decreased demand.  I planned to bid on this but when I noticed that Martin already had I decided not to as a "professional courtesy".  Also, had it been posted here it would have probably went for quite a bit more.

I wasn't even looking for this but when it popped up I remembered how much fun my group had with it when it came out.

Thanks to a kind Acaeum member I was able to get a Trolls and Trollkin for under $5, which I think is amazing. Yay! One less on the great hunt list of will never be completed. :)
