I would definitely say it is hard to find.  I only see one maybe once a year and usually they are not complete (missing map and monster sheets).

Yes it's true, I bought it because I never saw it before. It seems that I have extra monster sheets. I have to count them.

Finally managed to pick up a copy of Pagan's Weapons Compendium - I hope. Just wanted to check with anyone who happens to know - the book has green front and back card covers and is bound by black plastic strips along the spine. Pages appear to be fairly low quality photocopies. Do I have the genuine article? Is there any way of telling for sure?

Marvelous book BTW.

Sorry can't stick up an image right now as the scanner and Win XP have fallen out, possibly for the last time.

If you have an HP scanner and Internet Explorer 7 that might be your problem.  Apparently something in IE7 causes a number of HP devices to crap out.  Check the HP site for a patch.

Both Pagan Publishing and rpg.net shows the same cover.
rpg.net states:
A photocopied velobound book, produced in several slightly different versions from 1993 on.

Don't have one myself to compare. I recall Scott Glancy mentioning that the first printing for one of the Gencon's was only 300 copies.

Click on the movie.

It lasts about 5 minutes.

The lonely D4 is even better. Shorter too.

five minutes of Dice stacking is really interesting.

Hey megnelwil.  Yes, sounds about OK. I sold mine a year ago or so, but your description sounds about right.  I think that there is an earlier print with a different cover (possibly crosshairs?).  Rumour on Y-S.com is that it won't be re-printed for a long while if at all.

I was watching that auction, they don't come up that often.. Y-S.com has a scan of the crosshairs cover in their product section, I remember looking at it at the time... it was rather small pic of it as I remember though...

Thanks chaps, appears it's the real thing, version 1.3 (3rd printing?). It's hard sometimes to reconcile a book that could be knocked out in 10 minutes on a modern PC/ colour printer with the idea of rarity. I keep forgetting, photocopying cost a fortune back then and affordable colour reproduction was a wish-list item.

I just got my latest shipment from Paul Jaguay for several items I had won from his last couple of weeks listings.
Enclosed in the box (along with some other items I had won) was:

The Dungeon of the Bear
and
The Dungeon of the Bear Level Two

Paul had listed it (The Dungeon of the Bear) as possibly being a second print with a ?
Looking at a post made by Plaag in another thread (MANY thanks for that link sir) I feel that both copies in Paul's listing are actaully First Print copies. Neither one has a Stock Number and both have what seems to be lightweight typewritten paper (single sided) with heavier cardstock tan colored outer covers (single sided) both sets are three hole punched.

Please see the link below for Paul Jaquay's Auction listing.

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... amp;ih=008

One last note: I am absolutely convinced that everyone watching Paul's Auctions were mostly hoping to gain as many Dragon Points as they could and totaly blew this listing off........

I am of course quite thankfull for that though.
I was able to get BOTH Bear Levels One and Two for a measily $10.50..... combined!  8O  8O

I had thought about placing this post in the Non TSR Silliest Auction price thread instead of here. 8)
