Thanks, I had been watching some of the listings of the Box Set for years.
I had seldom bid on those I had seen over the years since they always went for more than I wanted to spend.
I saw this one late and tossed a bid on it, never thinking my highest bid would fly.
(I had bid more than the winning bid too)

Got it for just $10.99................   8O

cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem& ... amp;ih=009

I think the reason it went so cheap was the shipping costs.
I will end up paying just shy of twice as much for shipping as for the complete box set itself (Except the dice that is).

The seller is in Canada and ships worldwide and his rate to the US for this listing was $19.50, That seems a bit high but still.......

BTW: This one is the 1" box version, per the question/answer from another bidder and the seller dated it at 1983.
What Edition/Printing Box Set might this one be?

I think you did pretty good.  A boxed set in decent shape for $30.  Not bad.

I have talked with this seller before.  He has postings looking to buy collections all over the place.  I'm sure he embeds some profit in the shipping the cost.  The Canadian shipping price is about $8 high.

"You can expect to pay anything from one hundred to two hundred dollars for a copy of this book on eBay, making it one of the few true collectibles in the RPG hobby since the first "Basic Set" version of D&D."

No kidding?

I won a copy on ebay once for $50 and the seller refused to sell it at the winning price.

Thanks; I'm pleased. It's always good to cross an item off the "been-looking-for-it-for-a-while" list.

It's a nice-looking item, too. Obviously a labor of love by the designers.

This weekend, I was searching the Goodwill toy and game section in Tacoma for things I can use at school....wooden puzzles...that sort of stuff.

Anyway...among the TV show crap and junk, there was a copy of Outdoor Survival for $2.99.

Some of the pieces are punched...not all...and the game has obviously been in a closet for a while, but it is obviously unplayed and pretty cool, actually.

  - Chaosium Inc.

Since the topic of Chaosium monographs has come up elsewhere, I thought I would mention the Chaosium Stormbringer sell-off to anyone who does not know about it.

Even if you don't play the game system, the ideas are still great and the artwork is good.

The three adventure compilations (two of which are still available here), are some of the best writing and scenarios out there:

Sea Kings of the Purple Towns

Perils of the Young Kingdoms

Sorcerers of Pan Tang

The second two are still for sale for only $5 each.

So is the D20 version of Dragon Riders of Melnibone....a cool and underappreciated publication.  Also $5.

So,  FYI, aye?

At long last, I managed to pick up a copy of the Pirates of Darkwater RPG.  I had to order it from Germany but it is even still in shrink and more complete than any other copies I have seen.  Now to crack open the shrink.

Well Several E-Mails back and forth with the seller bickering over shipping costs and FINALLY they are here. They arrived today.

I now have my copies of All the Worlds' Monsters I (Second Edition) and All the Worlds' Monsters III (First Edition) along with the Arduin Grimoire's 1 and 3 and some other less notable items.

SWEET..............
All the Worlds' Monsters........
Edited by Jeff Pimper and Steve Perrin (Chaosim Inc. Published them)
Volume I incudes 265 entries. 112 pages.
Volume III includes 238 entries. 112 pages

Can't wait to study them later this week.
Too busy right now though.   Darnit..........
