I wanted to add that I don't think these companies wont fulfill their goals. But I do think time goals in many of these will not be reached, and some may take years. Particularly when a smaller company or individual is given a gigantic order, the logistics are daunting, we are already seeing that as many much smaller kickstarter projects are still struggling to get product out from earlier presentations.

Plus I still think we will see one of these huge ones go belly up. It hasn't happened yet, but the mega-financed kickstarter is still a new thing.  I have more faith in already established companies in this regard.

There has to be a percentage of this that is only personal time commitment for the individual or groups involved with the kickstarter.
I would have thought some of these groups would have put more pre-emptive work and setup into their project.
Not just wait until they have the funds, then start from near scratch...

I imagine that getting everyone's order correct will be the biggest challenge for Reaper...or whoever does their shipping for them.

The money does not seem like a problem.

The Vampire Level $100 pledge has become insanely good with the addition of two storm giant figures to the basic order.

Everything ends at 3:00 PST on Saturday, August 25.  If you like miniatures, or want to make a start at miniatures, this is the deal you want.

Brave Halfling isn't one of the huge projects...but I'd rate their recently completed Kickstarter at a 75% chance of them coming through with the publications.

It's basically one guy and their big boxed set presale offer is still in the writing/editing phase...much less coming through with the Kickstarter.  We'll see.

Reaper is an established company with staff members and all that. Plus, they've been putting out miniatures through a distribution network and running a website ordering system for years.

This link is to the Reaper Kickstarter count.  Sitting here and hitting F5 about every minute can be mesmerizing.  The count is going up in real time at this point...if you get what I mean.

What is fun is that they also keep hitting bonus levels, which mean more bonus miniatures. They just added 4 and now the next bonus will be another 4 of golems (for the $100 pledge). That looks about the best level pledge and people are doing multiples.

Frog God just got into the game with a free pdf of Swords&Wizardry as a Reaper bonus. A very smart move. This kickstarter is making history.

The Reaper Bones Kickstarter is completely off the rails.  I finally realized that resistance is futile.

Sure, $55k in two weeks for this goofy game? No problem!  And the Project explanation reads like's it written by a mildly slow junior high kid. 8O

I see that only made $4552 of the $55,000 target......

Well I haven't been that interested in this because the figures are bendy plastic but it has just occurred to me these miniatures might be perfect for my young children.  Hmmmmm I might be in at the Vampire level with a number of options.

I've just bit the bullet at $100 due to the great extras in there, otherwise for their initial minis I may not have done.

Based my choice on the same as yours, great for my kids to get into, rather than my Citadel lead minis...

EDIT - after watching the FAQ video and the post earlier with regards swapping the box for Sophie, I'm doubly in with options now... Dammit...

I picked up the limited Sophies too... what fun :)

I draw the line at collecting... D&D Towels.

Did we need: Jade Magi Sewer Crawl

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions."  - The Forests of Leng

Speaking of half-naked women, there were some minor concerns about the female Frost giant figure and how scantily clad she was relative to a more realistic approach.  She looks almost anime to me.  Since the figure may still be in the development phase, perhaps a survey would reveal to Reaper a different, preferred approach.  Then again, maybe no consensus will be revealed.  To see and take the survey, go here:

I didn't much care for the giant sculpts and I was glad they were left as buy in options. They all seemed to have ridiculous anime style swords. I'm also not sure what scale they were using for the giants (they all seemed to be about the same size). What I plan to do is to do the swap for the sophie motorcycle wench and go for several of the driders.

The driders or case are my swaps too.

Nearly hit $3 million now!

Is it stated if you can swap out, as I'm not that fussed about the Chronoscope and IMEF figures, though at the price I'm getting it all, I'm not too concerned :)

The Sophie figure you can swap out for $25.00 credit to be used towards other stuff.  That's been stated.  Other swaps have not been stated so I doubt that'll be the case.
