I've begun collecting Pathfinder in conjunction with playing in a PbP campaign on Paizo's website.
My attempt to run a 1E game via video chat and my own forum quickly coughed up blood.

Even at the slow pace of a PbP, the game has intrigued me the way that 0E and 1E did back in high school.

So far, my PFR collection includes:

"Rise of the Runelords" Adventure Path --
    AP # 1 Burnt Offerings
AP # 2 The Skinsaw Murders
AP # 4 Fortress of the Stone Giants
AP # 5 Sins of the Saviors
    AP # 6 Spires of Xin-Shalast

(Still missing # 3 and, evidently, a different (first?) printing of AP # 1.)

And also --
"Curse of the Crimson Throne" AP (all 6 modules)
    Pathfinder Core Rulebook
    Pathfinder Beginner Box Set
    Bestiary
    Bestiary 2
    Bestiary 3
    Distant Worlds
    Sunken Empires
    Inner Sea World Guide
    Dungeons of Golarian
    Land of the Linnorm Kings
    Pathfinder Society Field Guide
    Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer
    We Be Goblins  (module)
    From Shore to Sea  (module)
    Into the Haunted Forest (module)

I'm now an Adventure Path subscriber, starting with (#56) with "Skull & Shackles".

The detail in the Golarian setting is impressive.
And the more I delve into this, the more enamored I get with the whole "Pathfinder Society" idea.
Probably some unfulfilled psychological desire to be Indiana Jones.

In fact, I think one of the strengths of Golarian is the fact that it's a thinly-veiled version of various (often fictitious) time-periods of Earth.

The next step will be a real face-to-face game, hopefully as a player and not a GM.
The pace of combat may annoy me (it's hard to tell via forum because that's slow anyway), but I've played enough war-games over the years that I think I can adapt to mechanics without any trouble.

Grabbing a part of this post and running, I wondered if there are añy Play by (e)mail games running?

BitD, I always saw games advertised at the back of Imagine or WD, but never took a chance on playing in one. So I thought the other day, would it be possible/easy/fun to play in a play by mail game nowadays with all the technology?

Play by email would be similar to playing by forum, or so I'd think.
I've enjoyed the game I'm in.
Of course, we're in the middle of combat that's taking 3+ days to resolve,
so you've got to be really patient.

It's possible, obviously, and might even make getting snail mail fun again.
I never played a mail-in game, though I was very tempted during some of the *long* summers I was home from college.

I wonder if even an email version would work quicker than forum based then?

Either one tends not to be compatible with my attention span.

I need a face-to-face game, even though I'm probably better suited to do PbP thought-wise (I'm not the fastest gun, more of a sniper mentality). Observe, analyze, and then act.  PDT_Armataz_01_18

I received my PDF of Pathfinder Online Thornkeep as a result of giving them some money through Kickstarter.

The quality looks really good, with a huge dungeon complex that was added onto as the Kickstarter funding increased.

I haven't read the whole thing yet, but really looking forward to seeing the hardbound version.

Hey Keith,

Burnt Offernings (AP #1) had a special GenCon printing with a different cover. It's been unavailable for quite some time now, and I hear it fetches big bucks when it does show up on the open market.

Shadow in the Sky (AP #13) also had a special GenCon cover. It is still available directly from Paizo here.

If you're interested in various printings of certain books, you might be interested in the complicated history of the Adventurer's Armory.

Even the regular printing of AP # 1 is getting pricey.
I imagine a GenCon cover would be  some serious money.

Thanks for the link ... I've always liked the Pathfinder wiki ... I browse it from time to time, but had never thought to look up printing histories.
That's cool!

If anyone is interested in a swap, I have an extra AP #1 regular cover I'd like to trade (along with cash :)) for the AP # 1 alternate...?

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions." - The Forests of Leng

I can't afford any new collectibles at the moment, but I would love to see photos of the GenCon covers if anyone wants to share.

Paizo has a 10% off holiday sale right now, and they're taking $10 off shipping... If anyone else was looking at the limited Runelords set for instance, might be a good time :)

From Paizo :

"To celebrate the success of the Kickstarter—and to thank you for putting up with all that messaging!—we're giving everyone a special discount code for use in the paizo.com store during the month of February. Just enter the code ksthanks during checkout between February 1 and February 28, and receive 10% off of one entire order! This is an untyped bonus, so it stacks with other discounts; if you're a Pathfinder Adventure Path subscriber, you'll receive your Pathfinder Advantage discount as well. This discount code does not work on subscriptions, backorders, preorders, gift certificates, pledge drives, books from Completist Publications, or non-Paizo electronic products, but there are tens of thousands of fantastic gaming products it does work on!"

Sucks I couldn't fund this Kickstarter and the one book I won't have is Emerald Spire.  Razor Coast is another one I have to pass up.  Though all of my money is going to fund in a way :) a much better thing to arrive in July, my second child :D

Yes, congratulations!  I hope he/she is healthy, and mom and dad are surviving the sleepless nights!

I've added good material to my collection since I started this thread:

Bestiary 3 (which I originally posted above by accident)
Carrion Crown Adventure Path (APs # 43-47)
Shattered Star Adventure Path (APs # 61-66)
    NPC Codex

I really, really like the NPC Codex.
I've always gotten a kick out of monster manuals, and this book is like one of those, only with, um, people.

I live in a strange RGP world ... one foot in OD&D/1E and the other in Pathfinder.
