Don't hammer Bill too hard about it, he's supporting the collector-value under heavy fire from inside his own foxhole.    PDT_Armataz_01_01  (From me).

I hate restricting content, and in every subsequent Kickstarter, as I did with this one, I will vote against having any at all. I'm not the top guy in the company, though. I prefer to leave the option open for us to reprint a complete version down the road in case ... D&D 14.7E has a nice open content license, or something.

Anyway the news is that the Kickstarter Cyclopean Deeps modules will have a cover to match the book. The regular printing won't - those will look like regular modules.

And as Bill said, Level 7B is completely restricted and won't be reprinted, much against my urging to the contrary.

Yeah, I know, just call me Wormtongue..... PS don't get me wrong, I love numbered editions, signed stuff, special covers, etc. Just not restricting the content itself.

So at $650 would I get 4 limited modules or just one. It isn't remotely clear!

Think you need to check the site again. The $650 pledge says up front you get 4 bonus 7B modules and the faq says you get a set of the Cyclopean depths module with each book.

Please note that for the higher pledge levels you will receive additional copies of the "Cyclopean Deeps" bonus modules, the players guide and softcover book of maps (i.e. $500 Level receives 2 copies, $650/$1000/$1200 Level receives 4 copies, $2000/$3000 receives 5 copies, $5000 level receives 8 copies, and $10,000 level receives 10 copies)

to be totally clear--1 limited edition book of each type with each Rappan Athuk hard copy at >$250. 10 hard copies, 10 of each module, 1 hardcopy, 1 of each module--plus other schwag.

I want you guys to have complete sets:)

I am going to add a huge perk to the $10k level soon. It will involve a 1/5 something written (only 1 copy provided) as well as a unique Reaper Miniature

So for my $100, I get the faux leather (unnumbered, unsigned) Rappan Athuk, PDF, Battle Maps, Players Guide and PDFs of Cyclopean Deeps modules? :)

Correct for the $100--after the kickstarter is over, the book will retail at $110 or so, and the modules will be $4.99 pdf, $8.99 (or $9.99) retail. &b (saying it again) will never go on sale.

The perks (buttons, shirts etc.) also go away. The players guide and battle mats will likely go on sale if I have to print extras, but not if I don't have to (print quantities have price break points).

Agreeded.. a very small number of something is always hard to live with.. but there are usually always low print stuff.. test runs, author coppies etc that rarely make it out into the market..

My feeling is that down the road we will see a dramatic increase in the $650 pledge level. If you know enough people it is the level to car-pool to Rappan Athuk with. If you are a collector it allows you to mix and match versions of (S&W or Pathfinder) and it brings you the 7B bonus module at the best price. If you are a completest it saves you buying the Cyclopean Depths modules (2 of them so far I believe) which shaves $72 to $80 off the cost of completing a Rappan Athuk set and bringing down the cost of the 7Bs, maps, players books, etc... to around $170 or $178 (if you consider the main book itself just a $100 version). Split that 4 ways and it is under $45 a set for the exclusive 7B and sundry items.

My guess is the largest number of people will pledge at the $100 level and the most money spent at the $250 pledge level. This kickstarter has almost two months to go and I think it is still gathering steam.

agreeded.. but then someone(s) have to miss out on being names as a backer in the book/tomestone etc..

Also, Bill, when the $100k level is reached looks like " All backers at the $650 or more pledge will receive a custom hand drawn image on the inside cover of the Rappan Athuk book by Artist Chris McFann, signed and dated".. is this only 1 of the books? as there are 4 at this level..

Brette:)
