I did a search, and I don't think this has been brought up yet.  Here's the web-site:

http://www.freerpgday.com/index.htm

I am curious what people think of the items offered this year and what they think will be hot.  I am guessing the Pathfinder Adventures(especially the Orcus one as they are limited to 3 per set), but if WOTC offers another Dark Sun Adventure, that'll likely do well too.

Here are the free rpg items this year (so far):

   Amarillo Design Bureau
Sample (1 per box), Prime Directive Adventure, "Space Colony Aldorado"
   Blue Panther
Sample (1 per box), Dice Tower
   Catalyst Game Labs
Gold (10 ber box), A Time of War: BattleTech RPG/Shadowrun Quickstart flipbook
   Catalyst Game Labs
Gold (10 ber box), Cosmic Patrol RPG Quickstart
   Chessex
Silver, 4 Commerative Dice For Store Owner
   Columbia Games
Platinum (15 per box), Harn Quickstart with world map
   Dice Candies
Sample (1 per box), Set of 6 chocolate polyhedral dice
   Eden Studios
Silver (5 per box), Conspiracy X Quickstart & Adventure
   Fantasy Flight Games
   Gold (10 per box), TBA
   Gaming Paper
Sample (1 per box), TBA Pathfinder Adventure
   Goodman Games
Bronze (3 per box), DCC RPG Quickstart
   Jon Brazer Enterprises
Bronze (3 per box), Pathfinder, "Shadowsfall: Temple of Orcus"
   Louis Porter Jr. Design
Bronze (3 per box), NeoExodus Pathfinder Adventure
   OffWorld Designs
Sample (1 per box), "Ask me about Free RPG Day" T-Shirt (XL) for employees.
   Paizo
Platinum (15 per box), Pathfinder Adventure, Dawn of the Scarlet Sun
   Pamean Games
Sample (1 per box), Brass & Steel Quickstart
   Q-Workshop
Gold (10 per box), Unique Dice
   Signal Fire Studios
Sample (1 per box), Metamorphosis Alpha Preview
   Troll Lord Games
Bronze (3 per box), C&C Adventure
   Wizards of the Coast
   Platinum (15 per box), TBA

Truth is worth finding and life is too short to work for money.

I'll be going through Nobleknight again this year.  Will be trying to pick up Pathfinder items, WotC's release, and depending on what I spend, a couple other things. Curious if Goodman Games's release or the Troll Lord's is different compare to last year.

No idea what will be hot, but I'm happy that the one item I want is at the Platinum level, so I should be able to get one without much trouble this year.

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

So should you eat the chocolate dice, or save them and hope they don't get eaten by ants or something?

The rumor on goodman's forums are that it will be a new adventure...not a rehash of last years.

I am not getting the bronze, silver and platinum levels?  Is that based on the RPG contributing company's commitment?

Anyway:  Free RPG Day is not free around here.

The one store I found that was willing to give me anything for free didn't actually want to give it to me.  They gave me the DCC RPG preview product because they thought it wasn't valuable.

I tried to find something to buy in their store to show my appreciation.  I couldn't find RPG items....not even dice.  Hmm.

Yeah, Bronze is 3 items per box ordered.  Silver is 5, Gold is 10 and Platinum is 15 per box.  And then there are the single samples.

Will be interesting to see what WotC does this year.  Will it be a 4th edition or something new?

Didnt know anything about a Metamorphosis Alpha preview either.  Sounds interesting.  And I will probably pick up one item at my comic book store and get the other items I want from Noble Knight like I have the past couple of years.

Drop a line to the people running Free RPG Day and let them know which stores didn't give away the product so that corrective action can be taken. Now is a good time since none of the product has been shipped to stores.

*bump*

It's this coming Sat. Find your local participating stores here: Free RPG Day 2012 Stores

Goodman has a different (well, the cover at least, not sure about the rest) quickstart for the DCC this year. Preview is here.

It's a 4E adventure, "Dead in the Eye". Preview page is here.

As we don't have this over here, could I be so bold as to ask someone to grab the C&C adventure? If that's not possiblec I understand

Cheers
Dave

Where are you?  I know there are some non-US retailers participating.

I'm in the UK, but aren't aware of any sites around here, although I did think it was a US only event

If you go to the store finder, and type in London, about ten stores show up as participating in the surrounding area. Try putting in your city and/or address.

Noble Knight has all of the items up for purchase on-line at their usual price - 1 cent per item, $15 minimum purchase per item.

Sheesh!  If someone is looking for something let me know.  I may have a way to help you out without spending $15 an item.....
