off of eBay--

Verbosh(last printing)
Caverns of Thracia(2nd or 3rd I think)
Under the Storm Giant's Castle

for $40 +$11.35 shipping...

that averages to about $17 each.
Assuming the condition of each is Fair+ to Good, did I do okay?

Ouch. I'd say that's a bit high, especially in lower-end condition, but I'm no expert on JG.

EDIT: There's some Judges Guild info here, including some valuations. Not sure if they're current:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

I would say you overpaid a bit Thork.  The condition isnt all that good IMO.  Maybe its just me but I see what looks to be some moisture damage on the books, lots of staining, and some considerable cover wear.  Hopefully no major rust issues or must smells.  If these were all in excellent condition I'd say you had yourself a pretty good buy.

I also think you paid too much for them.
Not terribly so, but certainly more than I would have paid, given the low end condition they are in.
Especially the big money item (Thrashia) as it looks the worst of the group.

Thracia usually commands more than $30 for nice copies, but that one is barely fair if that.

Under the Storm Giants Castle seems to sell at around $15 for a nice copy.

Verbosh should sell for around $5 for a very nice copy.

So not rediculous, but you could have easily done better.
In fact I would have sold you the same books in MUCH better condition for the same price if asked.
I have extra copies of all of those and more...

A bit high, but then I once paid $800 for a $600 copy of Palice of the Vampire Queen. Better to learn the values of things by dipping your toe in the shallow end than in the deep.

Congrads. You should enjoy the reading.

I always get the feeling that when I'm bidding on an item, someone's always trying to bid me up...

... until I don't need the item(s) anymore, then they seem to sell for real cheap...

So you paid a few bucks extra... no big deal...

You and I MUST be bidding on and fighting for all the same stuff. :(

This is a feeling I get as well, once I was bidding on a Minty RPGA 2 and the bids went to over $400.  I was out and lost sadly.  Not a week later another one popped up on Ebay UK and I bid and won at around $150.  I was very happy and the copy was absolutly perfect. (this was many years ago BTW).  I guess no one was looking the second time around. :)
