I did want it... but not for $150.00...

... I can wait for one that's not in the SW...

Congrats John.

Sometimes we pay more than most would feel wise or prudent for the things we really desire. 8)

Quite a few years ago I was reading the glowing reviews by those who had copies way back then, and seeing them sell occasionally here and there I never seemed able to snag a copy...
Anyway; I eventually did obtain my first copy of Starstone and I am not ashamed to say that I overpaid for that copy too (it is in rough condition).
I never regretted that purchase and I was able to upgrade to a nicer though still not close to minty copy later (I actually paid FAR less for that 2nd copy).

This most recent pucrhase was easily worth all that I paid (to me) and I was actually ready to go substantially higher than the ending amount (hence my last bid which was unneeded).
Once I have it in hand, my first copy will be listed for sale and I am quite sure that it will sell for a lot less than I paid for it several years ago...
Regardless; even with it's many obvious flaws I will be somewhat sad to see it go.

Very few have called me either wise or prudent. 8)

It's always good if you have a copy in hand to sell and defray the cost.

If you can't sell the first copy online bring it to NTRPG con, I bet among that bunch you'll get a sale.

Another fake golden Grenadier mini? The only ones I know of were the MU from the Specialists Gold Box set, and the Shaman from the Orc's Lair set. At least this one looks more convincing than the fighter from some months back.

The only one I was aware of was the MU, so I really have no idea.  These didn't come originally with a certificate or something in the box?

Yes, they did.  There was the MU, orc shaman, and supposedly the basilisk, although this is the first of the latter that I've seen.

Very good book, worth the BIN, but the starting price is very good.
Just $4.99.
If I did not have a minty copy I would have bid already.

I noticed this listing as well.

In addition to its folklore and place in D20 publishing history, Dreadmire is actually a good read and the artwork is excellent.

The original publisher who sold these on ebay must have sold a bazillion of them. Is this the same fellow, or another?

I have a suspicion that it's the same guy.  Oerthling is an Ebay handle an old gamer would know and choose.  He has a feedback of 2, which indicates a new handle.

Given how much of the book's sales pitch and info the seller chose to post, I suspect it's the author under a new name.

Given from what I read before, the author changing names, etc seems to fit his profile as well.

Not an RPG item, but possibly very interesting to someone here....

This is Singer in the Mist - a collection of Robert E. Howard's poetry from Wierd Tales.

Not to be confused with Singers in the Shadows, which is a different collection.

If you already own Always Comes Evening, all the poems in Singer in the Mist are duplicated in that book...except that the poem The Last Hour is substituted with The Last Day, which is almost exactly the same.

BUT...at $17.50 Singer in the Mist is a good start on Robert E. Howard's poetry for a good price.   FYI

Little by little he's getting his money back out of his book.  I imagine there were 1000 copies of Dreadmire printed, all distributed by the author, himself.  Whatever people might think of the author, as a small press sales campaign, it is a really good effort.

If printed numbers were originally 1000, perhaps he should have printed only 500?

Inquiry:
Do good RPG (Fantasy) books that are well done eventually sell themselves?
Even if distribution is slow (as in self- distribution) and advertisement all but non-existent?

FYI: There was also a 36 page PDF with bonus materials that could be downloaded by going to a web site and entering a code that was inside the book.
Does anyone know if you can still get the Bonus Materials to download?

I just can't imagine he is even recouping the production cost since most of his sales are $5 or $8 and Ebay takes about 25%.

Under $47.
Lowest BIN I have seen for this box set in a while.
And with the box being so heavy, free domestic shipping makes it even more attractive to US buyers.
Troll and Toad, but the risk might be worth it for those who still do not have a copy.

Yes it's the same guy.
Had a number of discussions with him under both eBay IDs exploring the possibilities of shipping boxes into the UK.
