I think this is the guy who is selling fakes.

Wow. Well that's good to know.

(Thanks for covering, Mark.)

Yes; totally fake.  The Thunderstruck is fake (more blotchy than the usual, obvious striated laser printing). The Wanderers are fake, too (not even the correct cover art). The Signal GKs are $155 of appalling-badly printed fake. etc. etc.

Not enough people are reporting to get them kicked off eBay and they've raked in thousands of dollars. Hey, ho...

:oops: Bought a set of the Wanderer 1 & 2 before I saw the obvious. They haven't arrived. I'll report them as soon as they do.  :evil:

Heh; darn... :/
Could've been a more expensive experience but that seller seriously needs kicking into touch and thus far they don't even have a negative to their name.
When I followed up on the first batch of their fakes 4-5 years back - when it was possible to find out the buyers - a few of those who bothered to reply seemed to be well aware that they were fakes; not surprising for the Signal GK's given the difference in price vs. the $1,000+ genuine set that they'd just sold.

Looks like the fake Alien Stars are back, too - they'd been in hiding, I presume, as the striated laser printing really is blatant on those (no zoom provided on eBay!) but the seller must be gaining in confidence. This time around they claim to be a "high-quality American edition". There was no such thing (I asked them last time for their story/proof and received no answer) and the British price is still on the cover...

Not sure why I thought the "interesting items" thread might've thrown a false positive. Oh; the "Dwarves" on the first picture, of course... ;)

For RQ/Glorantha fans looking to diversify who haven't yet picked these up, a nice little TotRM starter lot:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Questlines is worth more than NKG's give-away price (predictably snatched-up pdq) and #10 pays for most of the batch;

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Early issues are a bit more problematic to acquire... :)

** expired/removed eBay auction **

** expired/removed eBay auction **

** expired/removed eBay auction **

against which, Mark's #1 & #3 appears not-too-bad price-wise despite the staple rust and mark to #3...

** expired/removed eBay auction **

RQ/Glorantha 'zines have been fairly strong in general recently; e.g.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

** expired/removed eBay auction **

through issue #6

** expired/removed eBay auction **

(...so I'm also waiting to see if anyone twists a decent offer on the WF#3 with the counter bag still attached, currently listed. Not exactly common, those.)

NobleKnight has the Pagan players aids kits, for both Walker and Realm:

Walker @ Walker in the Wastes - Player Aid Kit

Realm @ Realm of Shadows, The - Player Aid Kit (missing a map, though!)

The front stapled issues are later copies though, I think.  Anyone know for sure?

*g* So much for me just being able to make a quick "hit-and-run" post.

Well, I did say "more problematic"?

Think we might've discussed this before and probably have to remember half the story I've forgotten....

Wayne's Books has "Issues 1-6 were hand-stapled photocopied sheets. I have also seen issues 7 and 8 fanzine-style, as well as the more professional saddle-stapled style seen in later issues" but I think that can be probably be replaced, at least in part, by "reprints for the US".

IIRC #1-3 only exist front stapled and #4 onwards exist saddle-stapled (and those are the 1st prints rather than being later higher-quality reprints). I think that's what I picked up in the UK and, helpfully, those recent eBay sales have a degree of backing for that, too.

The issue 5 that sold for a high price, above, had a UK cover price;
Glorantha Tales of The Reaching Moon 5 Runequest Free Worldwide Shipping | eBay
whereas side-stapled issue 5 had a US cover price;

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Working back between those two sellers, the former has a nice saddle-stapled issue 4 still up for sale;

** expired/removed eBay auction **

whereas the second seller's issue 4 was side-stapled again, albeit this time with a UK price (not bothering to change the cover price that time? content had already traveled from Oz anyhow *jk*)

** expired/removed eBay auction **

So, given that the staple stock on the issue 1 and 2 at $100 and $85 above from the second seller is the same, I'd guess there's a high probability those are reprint copies, albeit genuine (unstated) reprints. (When I'd looked first my mind queried a slight gloss(?) in the print quality but not enough to red flag?).
I'd have to dig out my copies to compare (anyone else?) but for Mark's issue 1, the issue and date are aligned somewhat differently versus the sheets below and that may have different staple stock (rust isn't always a bad thing?). There's no less definition in the cover image and on the back the solid black of "Spirit" is quite a bit darker than the somewhat blotchy appearance of the $100 copy. So, unless there was a retouch, Mark's might be looking better if anything but it would be useful to know if those were acquired from a UK owner originally and as a pair. I do recall such a sale a long time back but don't have it saved...
Not that I have the time, but I'll need to check for those phantom staple holes on the back of issue 3 which I'd noticed on Mark's pair but, reassuringly, also present on the second-seller's copy which sold for good money;

** expired/removed eBay auction **

[edit: OK, that's almost making it sound easier to find the first few issues of Trollcrusher than "genuine first prints" of TotRM... *jk*]

I am fairly certain that the first prints of ALL of the issues of Tales of the Reaching Moon are side-stapled.
