Hi all,

i always wondered how rare is this.
I'm sure anyone knows what i'm talking about, Chevalier was the very first incarnation of C&S, before the first edition that was released in 1977.

Noble knight doesn't have it, i never saw it on ebay, and i never managed to learn how many here on Acaeum owns a copy.

I don't even know how many pages it is.

cheers :D

It is rare but not horribly so.  A couple pass through Ebay every year.  I think I bought my copy for about $25 + shipping.

Maybe I am thinking of Destrier.  I will have to dig out my C&S stuff to check.  If Chevalier is the self published version (not FGU) then it is probably very rare although I'm sure I have seen a copy.

Yes Mars, i believe you are thinking about Destrier indeed.

Chevalier was- as you wrote- the unpublished version (not FGU).

is there a place where i can buy one?

besides, i crave for Simbalist's signature, even a scan will do :D

142 pages is a lot, i didn't expect it to be so long. Can you  tell us if it differs much from C&S 1st ed. (1977)?

I knew the Late Wilf Backhaus, so I don't think it is appropriate for me to mess with the Estate's copyrights.

Knowing this is a old thread, was wondering if someone who had the reprints (or the originals) can look to see if damage from holy water to undead or damage from flaming oil are included.

They are both covered in C&S 1e.

Trying to determine who included these rules first, Holmes D&D or Chevalier/C&S.
