The adventure was terrible, so if you're a player and a collector, Horror on the Orient Express should probably be near the bottom of your wish list. I bought it back in the day, then later returned it since it was so bad.

Good to know before I shell out for it.  I collect Cthulhu but I am also running a regular game with some old friends...  Currently it is Shadows of Yog Sothoth, which is a lot of fun but so full of problems that I need to do a big chunk of addition/deletion and preparation before each session (which i don't really mind though  :))

This is quite a good (if short) collection of out of print stuff from Pagan publishing. It is not exactly rare (although not common) but I reckon that his lack of pictures will put off a good few bidders. It also looks like he has two (or he has screwed up his listings..) So you might be able to pick it up cheaply.

I don't really collect rolemaster but I do have the first edition box sets (rules and spell law) and they have an early 'handmade' feel to them like what you get from early D&D (esp. Judges Guild).

This is nice condition but no box sadly. Not sure what it will go for - does anyone here collect this stuff/know the values??

ps. his postage seems steep!

His postage is a joke, which is why I never bid on his stuff.

Actually, he's barely breaking even on some of those shipping charges, except for the BS "+50% of shipping for each additional item", assuming he's shipping those as parcels, and not just dropping them in an envelope. Canada Post is almost as stupidly expensive as the UK shipping. Nobody in the world that I've ever heard of comes even remotely close to the cheap rates that USPS somehow gets away with.

US shipping for Canadians: Oversized lettermail is $2.90, a light parcel is $5.60, heavy parcel is $8-14 (8/11/14). Costs me $11 to ship a hardcover to the US. A few of them, $14. That's airmail, not even express.

On average, double that for international. Light stuff is $7 international, but as soon as you get above 1/2 a pound in mass, you're looking at damn high rates.

Nothing beats the flat rate envelopes and boxes you get FREE from the USPS.  I guess Canada or Europe doesn't have anything like this.  As much as you can stuff inside for one flat rate price (under 4 lbs typically, but the new flat rate priority boxes I think are 70 lbs).  That's why I look askew at US sellers gouging on shipping...if you use the FREE flat rate envelopes shipping should be a reasonale price even if you tack on a couple bucks handling fee or whatever.

Yeah, and that "nothing beats" is literal. I thought Canadian shipping was bad (and it is), but after talking to Fluffmeister, I realize you guys on the other side of the pond pay even more.

As a Canadian eBayer, I tell ya, it's not easy competing with guys that don't pay for their shipping materials, and ship at 2/3 or half my shipping cost ;)

Plus, you should be willing to work with folks when logic dictates.

For instance, I recently won three expansions for the Cosmic Encounter boardgame from this seller. I'm not sure if y'all remember (or care), but CE expansions are just paper and cardboard, are very light, and are beyond easy to ship.

My items were, in fact, shipped together, and weighed less than a pound. However, I got the 50-percent "add-on" charge for each item. Yes, it's what the item pages state, and, yes, I paid up, but ... come on!

What sellers like this don't seem to get: trading immediate gain for future sales is not good policy. Or, put another way: this guy has lost me as a customer for life.
