We have ridings in Canada currently.  They consist of one or more counties in rural regions, and much smaller areas in cities, since they are now based on population.  Each riding votes for one provincial member of parliament.  Federal politics use the same system but the ridings are not necessarily the same.  The boundaries change slightly each election to account for population shifts.

Although the Canadian term is derived from the English it is not used in quite the same way.

Lindsey, a subdivision of Lincolnshire, also possessed Ridings, in this case the North, West and South ridings.

The term Farthing (four-thing) is analogous. Gloucestershire was once divided into Farthings, and in Middle-earth, The Shire is divided into four Farthings.  And a farthing was also a quarter of a penny prior to decimalisation.

No idea what this is, and my copy of Heroic Worlds is nowhere to be found. Anybody know anything about this one?

Delf no date but I would guess early 80s, 17 pages of very small print. Author - Kelly Villemaire, Co-author John Edwards.  Looks like a tough adventure for the recommended levels.

Hope that helps.  BTW if you lose the auction, I have an extra copy I would be willing to trade...

I was watching this one with interest.  I decided to manually snipe it and when the auction had 26 seconds left, I placed a bid and hit submit . . .  and waited . . . and waited . . . and waited . . . oops, we're sorry the auction has ended.

Arrrrrghhh!  Of all the times for  the cable modem to have a glitch

Good win, improvestone.  Good win.

At least you remembered to place a bid. I put it on my watch list for a manual snipe and got suckered into handing out candy for trick-or-treaters. I didn't get back to the computer until it was all over...

Glad to see it went to an Acaeum member though.

Actually, I'm curious about this one. IIRC, my copy came bagged, not boxed (or is that some sort of bag? It's not the best photo I've ever seen). It's been a LOT of years, though, and I could be mis-rembering.

My copies of both WBRM and NG are both bagged, although WBRM was later re-released as DragonPass (NG was never re-released).

Mine has to be a different printing.  This is like the third time I've seen this one with a monochrome cover.  The cover on mine is in full color.

And I'm not familiar with Standing Stones, but it went for a bundle too:

Indeed ... Scott is becoming quite agressive in his bids

Of course this fits in with his comments on where he sees the market going and my long term views...

Yeah, but let's not forget the $5.00 shipping ($3.85 in a flat-rate) PLUS the good old $2.50 handling fee. Must be hard dropping the goddam thing in the envelope. I won't bid on her shit on general principle.
