Be aware that there is black cellotape (I guess it is cellotape, the black border) on the spine... so poor condition of the book...

I would probably say no - not that rare.  Plus these were very poorly bound.  I have yet to see one where the spine isn't cracking/pages loose.

C&S - I had one in near perfect condition that I sold on eBay in June. There was only two bids on it and it went for $20.

I know exactly what red_bus means about the binding. I have another copy of C&S stored in an envelope to lessen the chances of losing pages. The spine "exploded" just through normal use.

We never used C&S as a stand alone system, but it was great for mining little nuggets from to add to a campaign.

Too right.  It is great for campaign info. and bits and pieces - but the combat system was grim - and the magic system...  8O

Never got too far in C&S, rolled up a charcter (which took a long time) for a game that I never participated in (not sure why, long time ago).

Still have the books, all in excellent condition (probably because they are all packed away and only come out when I am looking for something else).

Don't see The Shire come up very often.

Bwahahaha!!!  Gotta check out the winning bidders Ebay handle.  It isn't enough that you get sniped at the last minute but then you find out the handle of the jackass that outbid you.

Seller has a few sought after Traveller items:

Digest Group's The Early Adventures for MegaTraveller:

Alien Realms:

Spinward Marches Campaign:

And this item is kind of interesting.

A proposal for Traveller products from Marischal Adventures titled Rogues in Space.  Sounds kinda goofy.  They produced some Traveller adventures in the early 80's that I have never seen on Ebay so I have no idea about them content-wise.  Might be worth something to the person that has to have everything regarding Traveller.

That's one of the funniest Ebay names I've seen in awhile (so_sorry_i_sniped). Plus, that's a good price, I've seen The Shire alone go in the $65 range.

Cheesy Time-Life series of reference books.  I used to own the first one Wizards and Witches back when I was in junior high school.  My parents didnt like the looks of it so they cancelled the rest of the books.  It did have some interesting stories.  I particularly liked the story behind Baba Yaga.  Can't say if the other books are worth a darn though.

I wouldnt consider picking them up unless I could get them real cheap.
