Since it's New American Library, I suspect that it's some sort of book club reprint, rather than a first edition, in case that's what you were looking for.

Rhea sold one of thes with a dust jacket I remember.. I also remember that I wouldn't mind picking up a hardback edition myself at some stage..

Be aware that there is black cellotape (I guess it is cellotape, the black border) on the spine... so poor condition of the book...

I would probably say no - not that rare.  Plus these were very poorly bound.  I have yet to see one where the spine isn't cracking/pages loose.

C&S - I had one in near perfect condition that I sold on eBay in June. There was only two bids on it and it went for $20.

I know exactly what red_bus means about the binding. I have another copy of C&S stored in an envelope to lessen the chances of losing pages. The spine "exploded" just through normal use.

We never used C&S as a stand alone system, but it was great for mining little nuggets from to add to a campaign.

Too right.  It is great for campaign info. and bits and pieces - but the combat system was grim - and the magic system...  8O
