You going to see him @ GenCon Frank?  Can you put me in touch?  I'd like to pick his brain on various things, especially "Treasure of the Draogn Queen" (of course).

Yes!  It was a pleasant surprize.  I have been kicking myself (well, sort of) for not snagging those Dragontree publications a year ago, when it seemed only one other guy wanted them.  Happy to get all three for just over $13 with shipping!   :)   Sometimes you win.

Perhaps hamilcar obtained a huge lot of original unsold stock?

I think it's likely that hamilcar has a large stash.  The price has climbed for awhile, driven in part by Ian's efforts ;)   When I started looking in earnest for a copy, they were selling for $30-40-ish, and only began to climb.  Getting a copy for less than $30 is quite nice now :D

Y'might get a page an issue, on average, and possibly zero in one of the copies.

I'm wondering that actually if I'm going to fork out some $$ for them.. and I have only see 1 issue sold in the past I believe, so they should fethch some nice $$

A self-published city-state perhaps? The listing says "published independently." Seller has several of the same.

I have seen these periodically pop up for several years now, I assume it's the same seller, it does seem to be self published.

Kent's work is pretty good:  he put the main book on sale on eBay by $5 vs. his usual prices @ Tarracina Port

A bit late, I realize, but as the seller of the DCC lot, I was happy with the offer on the lot.  Even though I don't frequent these boards too much, I'm hardly naive when it comes to the value of most collectible gaming, even though I was a bit surprised in what Haunted Lighthouse was selling for.

As mentioned a few days ago, it saves me the time and trouble of dealing with 20 different buyers and packing and mailing 20 different evelopes.  It saved me on the costs of packaging as well.  So, even as many of you hinted at, if I didn't get 'full value' for a few of the books, I'm still satisfied with the end result.

As far as taking a private offer, sorry.  If I disappointed some of you by ending the auction as a result thereof, sorry as well.

What would you have said if you made the deal :?

Actually, I need to be paying more attention with my bids:  if I had read the auction listing thoroughly and noticed that that smoke comment, I wouldn't have bid at all :(

David, it seems that I would have been better served by paying more attention, alas:  I opened

this evening, and it's still smoky.  Not as bad as it would have been if it hadn't been packed up well (the seller's description was spot-on wrt how well it had been packed up:  however, I'll willing to surmise that it to smoky prior to him wrapping it up.  Either way, it's smoky but not awful, and may well air out in time.  Perhaps my attic's woody (not Woodgrain, just woody ;) ) will help to counter it.  It's a shame, really, since the set is hands-down the nicest OCE I've had since selling my original one in 94/95.  C'est la vie....

Charcoal.

Use Charcoal to remove the odours - you don't have to rub it on, just have it close by...

"Musty odors: "Activated charcoal reduces odors," says Meredith Montague of Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. Pour two cups into an airtight bin, prop your items on a showbox in the bin so they don't touch the powder, seal until fresh, then air them out."

I reckon you could use regular cooking charcoal too - although you would probably need more as it will be (for equivalent weight) less effective.

Then it will truly be the beautiful object you want it to be. :D

Handling art-school or BBQ charcoal can get messy, so be careful not to get smudges on everything.
