It looks like a decent set and it appears to be complete(might be missing 1 map).

Eight sealed CE expansions

I just really don't get this guy's strategy.

So 10 days pass, he gets some bids, but it goes down as an official "no-sale" due to the reserve price. Seems like a complete waste of time to me.

Then again, I can't stand reserves, anyway — they strike me as completely idiotic — so I'm probably biased. I remember bidding in my first reserve auction many years ago and thinking, "What is this s**t?" I've just never been a big fan of the theory, and I know for a fact that many sellers don't know how to set reserves that make any sense.

I've done one (my very first auction) and doubt I'll ever do another. Though I'm not selling any high end items, for what I do sell it is not very cost effective not to mention relisting if the item doesn't meet the reserve.

I've never listed a reserve and I generally dislike reserve auctions.  However, I will say that I have gotten 3 second chance offers over the years as the highest bidder (even though the reserve wasn't met).  In all 3 cases I accepted and was very happy with the deal.  I suspect that the reserve hurt the seller and scared away some bidding.

So, I guess the moral is it can't hurt to bid what you'd be willing to pay - even if you are sure the reserve won't be met.  :D

Since I sell various uniques I often put a Reserve. 100% of them have been met.

Also, for what it's worth, nearly half of my stuff goes for the BIN.

I'd say you're definitely the exception, Frank, in that:

1. Many of your items really are one-of-a-kind;

2. You have been around auctions longer than 99 percent of eBay users;

3. You're an expert in the RPG/wargames area.

So I wouldn't be surprised to see some reserves on your items. I'm more baffled by guys like Mr. Cosmic Encounter, who can't seem to decide if he wants the money or wants to keep his complete set.

My message to such sellers: "Either sell it or don't sell it, but stop wasting everyone's time."

White box Tractics.  Looks like it has seen better days though.  Might go pretty cheap for someone who just wants a "readers copy".

Cthulhu Rainy Day Activity Book  8O

I think I remember having a Dennis the Menace or a Superman activity book when I was a kid.  Imagine the poor little bastard who got one of these from his parents.  Talk about some seriously screwed up kids.  :wink:

I'd be looking for counters, ref. sheets, reply card and mailer; but judging by the other nice stuff they have, it's more than possible that they'll have those around. ^^

(But when there are only 800 copies to choose from and silly prices, recently... compared with http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 8723780388 ).
