I'm actually really glad to see so much discussion going on about it, because Elf Lair Games actually just kicked back into full gear business.  We're now on DriveThruRPG, and we have a live website at http://www.elflair.com/ .  I'm working on the first adventure module for S&S (which will also serve as a preview of our forthcoming Wasted Lands RPG), we have three more modules planned (two of which are over half-written), and another sourcebook in the works.

I, too, am surprised to see that one of the sets made it to auction.  I have to admit I'm curious as to what it cost you to pick it up!

Are there white-box size sets of S&S still available?

I'd enjoy having one in my collection.

BTW, I just downloaded and printed the Basic game PDF.
Looking forward to reading it.

The photos on eBay are enticing.
It's a great looking rules set.

Sorry..I thought I posted on this thread when I actually posted on the "Boxed sets" thread. If anyone wants to see specific scans or anything, just ask. The link to the auction is:

Well I dont know who the winner o***l is but I do know who m***5 is and frankly I am astounded that he would bid that much.  Maybe he regrets not bidding more for the one Bracton won at Gen Con?

I thought $50 was a decent price.  $75 I could even see based on the interest.  No way I though it would get over that much.  8O

Guess I feel better then about paying $100 for mine, especially since it's number 4.  :)

And o***l is someone you know, John.  Though we haven't heard from him much in a while.  That would be lofenloc.

I was thinking the same when I placed my bid at $82... Insane price for such a recent item.

If o***l is lofenloc, this explains that...

I placed two early bids but the timing was bad for me.
It's too bad.
I'd still like a copy, but can't afford $200+ for a single item.

There were four people still bidding on it after it hit the $100 dollar mark. Figure if there is another listed, it should still hit $200 if the same people are interested in it.
