Hi all,

Not sure of there is any interest in non-fantasy stuff here but I thought I'd check. When I purchased the S&S property last year (originally published by Fantasy Games Unlimited) Scott Bizar thought he was pretty much out of stock, but he recently found a bunch in his warehouse. So I bought them off of him so I would be able to decide their fate, but there are 77 of them and I already sell a new printing on Lulu. So my question is this: does anyone have an interest in the original printing, for collector purposes or otherwise? I thought I would ask the community before I put them on ebay or see if Troll & Toad or Noble Knight wants a bunch. My sense is that at least a few people would want them for collector purposes. These have been in storage for over 30 years and I think all of them show at least a little scuffing on the cover from box wear. Each is in its own plastic sleeve now though. Right now I'm selling them for 8 bucks each plus shipping.

Anyway, if anyone is interested drop me a line...

Are you sure $8 is a good idea, if those are likely to end up with $-focused resellers?

Hint =>

(Tempted to say I'll take a dozen and salt 'em away ;))

Rather liked that one BITD, fwiw. :)

No one will buy them at $100 :) even at half this price... It is not really uncommon, and only a few people is interested in.

Last copies sold for $10-15. Considering the remaining stock, more than $10 won't be a good idea.

Try the link again. :)

Yeah, announcing 77 copies doesn't exactly help!

All too true, but I don't want anyone to be deceived about the situation. I know that one copy sold for 100 bucks on ebay but I just don't think that is a realistic price. They don't turn up often on ebay but nonetheless I have several and I would like people interested to have a crack at them.

Kudos, Dan; especially if you did already know about that eBay listing. Thought I'd better mention, just in case.

If you hadn't minded sitting on stock for a while, $20+ should still have sold those over time and given people a chance to discover it later on when working back through "RPG" history. As low as $8 might tend encourage hoarding/reseller mentality (per my friendly jab!) rather than actually buying for reading/playing/etc.

Good luck with those sales: well worth $8, IMHO. :)

I appreciate it! But yes I did know about it. The thing is, S&S had and has such a small fan base maybe I could get a few collectors to pay more but not many I suspect. I think that ebay listing is most likely an anomaly. Not enough gamers even know about S&S.

I think what I will do though is hold on to some and sell maybe half of what I have at this point.

I was thinking that the auction just ended, not that it sold for such a price.  8O
Amazing. Especially considering that rarest and more sought after books are not selling for less in TFM auctions.

Anyway, thanks to Dan to offer the chance to FGU fans to get S&S for a very decent price.
