Trying to ID a generic city builder book (this is different from the one I asked about in the d20 collecting thread).

Vague info I have on this one is that it's by Greg Stafford, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong, as I have a pretty good sense of all the major stuff he worked on over the years.

My best guesses are Midkemia/Chaosium Cities, or maybe a Gygax world builder book of some sort, maybe Paul Vernon's early White Dwarf articles... anyone have other ideas?

Based on the Stafford association, that seems most likely to me.  Thieves World also included some material from Midkemia Cities (encounter tables IIRC),so perhaps add that to your list.

There were city geos in the 1e Lankhmar city sourcebook, but it's not otherwise really a city builder book per se.

I should have mentioned that those had specifically come up in the discussion, and thus were not the book being vaguely remembered.

Good idea though.

Maybe the AH RuneQuest Cities book? Might take care of the Stafford connection (loosely)...and it was based on the Midkemia Cities book...so two birds with one stone?

EDIT: sorry...didn't realize this was what you were talking about with the midkemia/chaosium cities book.
