Cover looks cool.
Whatever the 'binding' choice is, it's most important that it is of a quality you'd expect from a limited print run at your chosen price point. Speek to your local graphics print shop and ask what they can do. Don't limit yourself to Staples in your research.

plastic comb is that like the spiral used in the CHAINMAIL booklet?

I dont think it would work well for 60 pages. I'd rather find something else more fitting.

Plastic comb binding is as per Chainmail. Comes in many thicknesses, but does have a cheam tacky feel about it.

You can get metal spral bindin which makes for easier reading than a gummed perfect bound affair, or maybe thick card covers and something through hole punching. Speek to the pros in your local graphics outlet/plan printing store. They'll let you know all their options.

I'd be happy with loose leaf with covers, as it gives me the option to bind it mayself as I'd like, but I suspect everyone else would want a binding.

Can you do No.2 unbound?

In response to the binding matter, I can certainly not bind any or all of them as per each individual's choice. I can 2,3 hole punch and use brass pins if that is desired, or leave un punched and loose.

The less technical stuff I have to do the easier it will be to expedite the process. Thus, anyone wanting a fancy hard cardstock cover will be at the extreme end, and anyone wanting nothing but loose sheets at the other.

I'd say a card cover and a similar back cover (even if blank) would be necessary. I'm happy with loose leaf though.

Thork,

Between the love here and what you get on DF, you really should have a print run of 25 - 50 copies.

Don't sell yourself short...

Thork,

So what are the options on this now? Just the print out of the internal pages, the version with covers, 2 hole punched, 3 hole punched, anything I missed?

Add me to the list...just not sure which version I want. I think completionists just had a heart attack ;-)

My post regarding binding the pages was Not meant to complicate the situation.

I would be quite happy with loose leaf if that is what you are going to produce for the majority of folks.

Just thought 2-3 holes on the side with the brass pins to hold the pages together would be an easy and very inexpensive method of keeping the pages together.

Heck, I have a bunch of brass pins that I would happy to mail to you for free.
I got them for like $2-3 at Office Depot here in town and only used a couple of them and it had something like 50…
The packages at Home Depot come in different lengths too.
1/2" up to 2-1/2", and the ones I have are 1" (I think) should be plenty long enough for 60 sheets.

If you decide to use the Spiral Binding method:
I have a spiral binding machine and have bound hundreds of books together using the machine.
All kinds of thickness too, from a few sheets to hundreds of pages.
From my own experiences with them; unless thicker stock paper is used for outside covers (best is Card Stock), then the outside pages are almost guaranteed to tear and rip at some point.
Second thought: it is FAR better to use a binder that is a little too large than one that is a little too small.

Bottom line, I am just happy to be on the list.
Once I know the price, I will send payment, then please sign and send that critter bound or unbound.
That is your choice sir!
I am eager to see the content, not the packaging…

Do a Google search for Lulu coupons.  There is usually at least a 20% off coupon code floating about.
