My copy arrived today...in perfect condition.

The page numbering is a bit eccentric...could you explain it again?

My heirs will be suitably puzzled by this artifact...but the signed and numbered front page will let them know they've got something special.

Now...dare I try to use it?    8O

  ...to say, a couple of #s shifted around. Remember when I asked about assigning # according to payment received vs. "I'd like a copy"? So I had a couple of lists floating about--and a request for a specific #--and some double shipments that went out together, which I think fouled me up as well.

I hope everyone is not too disappointed by their #, as the 2nd batch was sent before I realized the snafu.

It sounds like you're talking about copy number.

I'm talking about page numbers....not that it really matters at all.

Okay, you're all gonna get really pissed at me (except for the 1st batch owners)...

but due to concerns mentioned that the pages weren't numbered, I went back and added/penciled in something to help.

Example, the 1st sections (Introduction, DM's instructions, WM tables, Rhonda's Roadhouse, etc) are all confined to the "I" for intro pages; I1-I15. The first dungeon level already had page designations, as in UL1 (for upper level) to UL7; lower level 2(there are 3 sections)are numbered as 2/1 (level 2/page1) to 2/12; level 3 is simply L3/1 to 3/11. The tables and things following the text I designated as section "4" thus pages 4/1 to 4/10.

This does not appear in the 1st batch of 5 (which kind of makes them extra unique!)

Hope that helps everyone to understand my thinking at the time.

I presume if I have 58 pages (incl. cover) them I have them all. I won't be changing the page order, and as you read it, the original partail numbering is fairly easy to follow.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Now I understand why I didn't understand the numbering problem  :)

Hardcore collectors and print junkies will want one copy with and one without page numbers

Hi Thork, got mine today! It is numbered #14/15.
I didnt check the page count... the only (likely stupid) question is: both title and contents of the thread is about G5... but the title of your MS is actually G4... did i miss smtg?!?  :?

No, you didn't miss anything. The 5 in G"5" is noted thus. The OP explains how I was going to originally begin writing giant adventures with the G4: Castle of the Cloud Giant Queen. After I completed it (and its sequel) I shelved the idea, because it required the players to use evil characters against good giants. I didn't think that fit into the premise G.Gygax had established in the original series. So, it sat in my closet for over 10 years.

When I decided to tackle the idea again, I started from scratch, creating the G4: Sanctum of the Stone Giant Lord, which came out in 2009 I believe. But, I still wanted to use cloud giants, so I took the "old" G4 (the copy you now have) and rewrote it and turned it into the G"5": Castle of the Cloud Giant Queen for part 2 of the series of 6.

The copy you have, designated as a G4 "Castle of the Cloud Giant Queen" is, IMO, truly a unique item that one seldom sees nowadays even from collections of old material of writers from the golden days; too little original notes and MS were/are kept.

Hope that explains it. Glad you got it intact.

With the author's permission, I would like to ask if anyone would be willing to make me a copy or PDF of their G4 module. I missed the cutoff on purchasing that one and would like to have a play copy.

As stated, I have received permission from the author to ask.

Please PM me if you are willing to make a deal.

Thanks,
Phaedran

I just read through the G4 adventure.

Thork, my congrats. It was an enjoyable read. Nicely put together and thought out. I wouldn't say you're an artist  :), but everthing else is excellent. Good storyline, very adaptable to any campaign, new monsters, nice dungeon maps, nice world map, prerolled characters...I mean, everything's there! Makes me wish I played once again to try it out.

Very good product. If other products in your lulu store are like that, you've got a new customer!

Keep them coming!!

Hector.

Thanks, Hector.

I can't speak for everything at the store, but I'll guess that at least 75% of what's there is as good or better.
