Paizo just took over the stock of an defunct game store...they will be offering whatever they've got at original MSRP over the next few months.

http://paizo.com/store/sale/americanEagles/aDD

First up is some Role Aids whatnot and some Mayfair CSIO stuff.

Sunrunner44 - on the Paizo mailing list.

PS - being on the Paizo mailing list is not helpful to my budget.

PPS - I wish everyone had a mailing list (I'm looking at you Johnny Rook/0one/Etc).  Props to FGG and Pacesetter on this, though.

PPPS - I could be homeless but with a cardboard box home made of old shipping boxes from Paizo and NKG and so forth.

PPPPS - Nerdy, cool, and destitute, all at once.

PPPPPS - Nice to know I've got something to shoot for.

Considering you can usually get most of those Role Aids supplements and adventures for five bucks or less on Ebay, I dont see this as all that great a deal.

Wow! Those should be in the silliest prices thread. Those are seriously overpriced, with not even a single one worth buying at more than a few bucks. Paizo must be desperate, or ignorant. Whatever, you won't find anyone here who doesn't know how to use eBay.

I'm assuming that there's a reason that the gaming store both went out of business and had this bunch of stuff left.

Sunrunner44 - makes obvious statements

stratochamp thinks it is very cool than sunrunner44 refers to himself in the third person. in fact stratochamp thinks that sunrunner44 can probably drop the 44 and just be referred to as sunrunner (i.e. cher, madonna, bono etc.) for generally it is only the one name celebrities who are able to make such deft use of the third person voice.

Sunrunner44 distinquishes himself from the other, lesser, Sunrunnners/Number combinations*, but thanks you for the value-added commentary, as the Fortune 50 business folks say.

Sunrunner44 - gracious, even while being foully mocked.

* assuming that there are others on this site.

PS - mocked, I say

PPS - my normal nom de plume** is SR4, so I have to keep up the 44 crap to keep all the various aliases straight in my head, and so forth.

** or however the F*&* you say that

PPPS - Plus, SR4 was already taken, damn my luck.

Sunrunner44 - dubiously on the above

PS - How come I can delete this post but not one of the others above?

You can delete a post only until the next post is made AFAIK.

FormCritic agrees with Mbassoc2003

The MSRP prices are supposed to be really good.  They aren't.

FormCritic knows that most of these items can be had for much less.  He also knows that any really rare or valuable item that appears will be gone from the Paizo store before he can get to it.

There are some non D&D related items that may be a fair deal at MSRP, especially if everything really is new old stock as stated.

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games

Paizo has made hunting for these OOP items simpler by putting them all in one well-known online store.  The prices of the common items are not bargains or even current market value (whatever that is).  But these OOP games are now available from a major RPG publisher.

This is also a good PR move for Paizo.  Paizo shows its fondness for the old gaming community and notices when a local game store closes.

FormCritic knows that most of these items can be had for much less.  He also knows that any really rare or valuable item that appears will be gone from the Paizo store before he can get to it.

JohnGaunt sees that some of the uncommon items are already gone.

JohnGaunt has not finished his first cup of coffee, and his mind is being warped by these third-person posts.  He remembers his RPG characters.  His characters refer to themselves in both first- and third-person; his characters are actually pretending that they are being played by an unseen party who refers to that character in first- or third-person.

How nice of them, especially considering their online store (among others) is partly responsible for brick-and-mortar stores closing :).

This is not a criticism. But it is a little ironic.

Am I the only one that sees bolded names and immediately thinks magic items?

Sunrunner44 - wondering.

PS - Who is John Gaunt?

PPS - If you're a bullemic capitalist, that's funny.

Not a single thing on the list I'd even consider at the prices listed.

But I bet they sell out pretty quickly.

Oh, yes.  Paizo will definitely sell these items almost entirely out...and at a hefty profit.

FormCritic is sure they'll make roughly 500-1000% profit on each item.

Most likely, the American Eagles guys were happy to get at least something back on these items.  It would be cool if they had a stake in the online sales.

American Eagles also sold online.  They were on Ebay.  If they had added a strong internet sales effort, they probably could have stayed in business for a while longer.

FormCritic mourns the passing of an era.  Long live Paizo.
