Ok, it's actually a CenterStage Mini... but special for the Con

I pondered on posting this or not, or just leaving it as a big surprise for those that show up at the Con (there are other surprises, so guess I don't have to save them all).

This year, Jason Wiebe has graciously donated his time to sculpt a Mini for the NTRPGCon. Matt Solarz of CenterStage Miniatures has graciously donated the cost to get the mold made, and minis produced.

Jason is done with the sculpt and it's been sent to the casting company per Matt:

"He's already sent them to my casting company, so my hope is to have castings as early as next week."

There are only going to be 100 of these Minis made, then the mold will be sent to me (for a future "shadow box" of historical stuff for the Con).

These will be packaged with our Con logo, and ONLY available at the Con.

So here is a look a the first Limited Edition NTRPGCon Miniature

Image

Lord of the Great Plains

He's a "Longhorn Minotaur", and that's a Con Logo as his belt buckle !

I asked Jason about his size, and this was Jason's response:

"big. not as big as the new plastic trolls from gws, but he'd be a fine warhammer minotaur lord.  ogre-sized, maybe...i didn't measure him before i sent him off, sorry.  he's a better monster than a player character, but that depends on the game...."

Looks good.
What if you can't go to the Con'?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

First, I think we'll sell out at the con.  If not, I'm sure Doug and I will keep any leftover pieces for future raffle/auction purposes.  I doubt we'll sell any of these after the con, but that's up to Doug.

Sales will work something like this....

Every Con attendee will get a colored ticket, which they will give up if they purchase a Mini (so people can only buy one,  unless the get someone else to give them their ticket).

The first 100 sold, get a Mini ( less mine and Mike's so 98 )

In any case, should there be any left over, it's possible we might sell them online (like we did the PotVQ etc), but it will depend on the quantity. If I have less than 10 left over, I'll probably keep them for prizes for future Cons or something.

You should include at least one in the raffle. There are already items only obtainable in that by those attending, so why not have something that can only be won by someone not at the Con? I know I would like a chance to get one... I like the figure and he'd go great with my Warhammer stuff.

Those who can, don't. Those who should not, do.

Since it's a limited edition, it's going to be a $20.00 Mini... I know, a bit expensive, but we'd really like to NOT lose money at this Con ... 2 years in a row and I need to see black instead of red !

We looked at $15~$20, but I am leaning on $20.

Not to send anyone away from the posting here, of course, but there's a close up of the belt on the forums at Center Stage -

http://www.centerstageminis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7

You'll need to register to see the pics, at least until I find a way to change "Guest" permissions.  :?

Jason did a very nice job with this one. Once I have castings in hand, I'll shoot a couple of pics over to Doug and we'll get one posted.

Definitely a Texas minotaur. My original suggestion to Jason was sculpting a giant shrew, which could easily be attached to the back of any character figure....maybe next year.

Nice closeup pics.

The Shrew note was funny and very appropriate.

It could have served as the Longhorns Pet...
