I am one of those irritating RPG collectors who does not pay any attention to the identities of his minis.

I have like 300-400 figures and dont know what any of them are named.
Maybe I have three GROOs and dont even know it?
Maybe I have no GROOs...
How would I know?
Sorry to admit this folks,   but I would not know a GROO if it jumped off the gaming table and bit me on the nose.

How about some pictures in the Wanted Post below.
Even better, perhaps pictures and some discussion of Groo hunting in one of the other Forum Boards?

That was the post I made in the classifieds... I have deleted it since it was useless.

Since no one else posted here I will.

I noted a post in the classifieds asking for information leading to finding Groo the Wanderer Minis.

Never heard of em and had not a clue what they looked like.
So I said as much in the post above...  Shoulda done it here to start with.

Turns out they are minis made by Dark Horse based on Sergio Aragone's Comic Book Character (Groo) his adventuring companions and probably some of his antagonists as well.

I had never even heard of the comic book either.

But plenty of others seem to know who Groo was and had some information they shared through PMs... with links as well.
I share that stuff here in case I am not the only one who did not know Groo like a relative...

I think Ral Partha might have put some of them out as well but I have no links to those if they exist.

I am pretty sure Groo minis were put out by Dark Horse.  They are not easy to come by. :)

Groo is cool!

I did a search.. 5 sets produced.. quite rare by the looks..

Groo 25mm Lead Miniatures #1-5
(1986, Dark Horse Miniatures)
5 sets of lead miniature figures of Groo and Friends. Dark Horse Miniatures which made these are long gone, (Dark Horse Comics have nothing to do with them), so these miniatures are REALLY rare. Just about impossible to find! Not even Mark Evanier have a complete set...

#1: Groo, Rufferto, Chaakal, Sage, Minstrel.
#2: Groo, Taranto, witch, Arcadio.
#3: Young Groo, Grooella, Sergio, Gravito
#4: Wenches and Warriors (2 title maidens, 2 guards).
#5: Dragon put together from 5 pieces.

I've only come across three of them and auctioned them on ebay.    Groo went for $5.50, Chaakal for $4.75, and Sage for $2.57.   I think it was all to the same guy in Australia.

I have Groo, the Minstrel, and the Sage in my collection.  Don't have pics at the moment, but I could try to post some, if anyone would care to see what they look like painted.

I can't believe what those miniatures went for.  It used to be you could pick groo items for next to nothing.  I collected the groo comics and miscellaneous items for amusement purposes.  Never thought they would be worth much.
