Thanks for the heads-up in the sale...I went slightly nuts but that's the whole point.  But the sale brings up an interesting thought - what's the right dollar amount on which you'll take a flyer on something?  When clicking around, I saw the new-edition Goodman Games-Produced Judges Guild modules.  For cover price: not interested.  For 90% off (or whatever it was) and at $3, I can always spend the cash and see what I get.

How do others consider the 'pricing/deal' factor when taking a chance on the unknown?

In other news, I finally used this change (read: excuse) to pick up the Shackled City HC.  I've been dancing the dance with it but have been unwilling to drop the coin.  But the overall quality of the Adventure Paths convinved me to see what the predecessor was like.

International postage kills this ..
even domestic postage looks to be on the high side..

Yep I spent $80 in the sale, then went to checkout and got $120 postage (UK) so I clicked cancel, and contacted a friend in the US to see if I could get the items sent to him. yep can do he said, will get them next year sometime, but the postage went down to $24 ;-)

I spent about $140 on 20 different books (many hardcover), got postage around $24, and since my order was over $100, they take off $10, so ended paying $14 in postage. Not too bad considering quantity of books.

What sucks is being a subscriber I've got the Pathfinders and various other items so the bundles are no good to me, even though I need some of the items contained within them.  I did make a small purchase of some odd ball stuff that sounded interesting or was cheap from other companies.

Well, its cool they're selling stuff but I saw absolutely nothing that I wanted to buy. Seemed all d20 / 4e stuff, none of which holds any interest to me. Maybe I just need to dig in closer...

I received the following info in an e-mail today.  This is only part of the e-mail.

From now until the end of January 2011, you may use the promotional code "holiday11" to get 10% off your order. This is a one-time-only code, so make sure to fill your shopping cart with lots of gaming goodies before using it! And for those rules lawyers out there, it stacks with other promotions—consider it a morale bonus to your paizo.com discounts! The 10% comes off your subtotal after any other discounts have been applied—including the Pathfinder Advantage—but before shipping and taxes are added. This discount isn't valid on subscriptions, preorders, backorders, non-Paizo downloads, or Completist Publications' Star Wars collecting books—but it's valid on about 20,000 other items in the store...

:)
