Sorry, I hadn't taken the time to fully scope these out since that was looking like a potentially expensive task if some of the print variations were only obvious from interior content, and they were still common enough to leave in-depth research for "another time".
You're definitely asking the right question, though, given that #1 must presumably (also?) have been reprinted very early on what with that huge hike in number of copies printed for #2.

I have a full set now, but have to think that this seller is WAY over-pricing.

** expired eBay auction **

However, with regards the £1.95 or £2.95, I'll recheck but the copies I have are £1.95 for the first few copies then £2.95 for later issues.

Tend to agree, but isn't 9 one of the more pricier ones.  I'm still missing this one, but won't pay that much!

yes i think its 9 and 12 which are the hardest, or is it 11...forget now. that price is maybe a little OTT, but i have seen a few go to that and higher over the years.

Per Ian, 10, then 12, then 9 and 11, are the hardest ones to find.

That 9 is a bit high for the current market, which is why it has been relisted several times.

In my experience in the numerous sets I've put together over the years, Issue 10 was the hardest to find, closely followed by Issue 12. Issues 9 and 11 tend to crop up more frequently, with 11 being more common than 9. Issues 8 and below used to be really common, as in £5 a shot, but over the last 18 months, these have either become more sought after, or harder to find, and prices at the low end of the collection has been rising substantially, doubling in the last 12 months.

Currently, I'd peg the core value of these magazines as follows;

Issues 1-8 - £8
Issue 9 - £15
Issue 10 - £30
Issue 11 - £12
Issue 12 - £25
Complete Set - £150

As always, watch out for missing pullouts and inserts, and cutout floorplans and coupons.

I've never seen a copy of Golden Spire on it's own in open auction, and I suspect a copy on eBay that were flagged up to the community would hit £50+. There are a lot of people on the forum who have their TS! collection and are missing this little adventure.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . chicken and wild rice soup.

It was a seperate adventure given away as a freebee in stores.. only 4(?) or so pages long.. I think Ian had some for sale a while back (?) someone did.. I bought one then, its the only time I have seen them..

edit: There you go right down the bottom on Ian's Imagine page...

edit again: Actually Ian did sell these through ebay..  march/2006.. just found the email..

it was a BIN though and not an auction

As I recall, I had two copies that I'd picked up along the way. They were in store freebies in order to promote TS!, and were released to coinside with the publication of CDM1. I think it's a bridging adventure between an earlier TS! adventure and CDM1, but I don't recall exactly.

A good little find if you can get one, and something that would attract a goodly amount of interest if it were to appear on eBay and be flagged up in the forums.
