Has anyone else noticed the picture on page 217 of the Pathfinder core rulebook?

It looks to me like the artist has given the wizard on that page Frank Mentzer's face.  8)

Since the Pathfinder Core Rulebook can be rather intimidating I've found that it's easier to start with the combat section and then work backward.

This is especially true if you remember most of the old AD&D rules.

You'll have to get accustomed to feats and skills, but otherwise it's a good approach.

My browser didn't load the webpage very well, so I did not realize until I scrolled to the bottom that the Beginner Box is not available yet.

Per Paizo's website: Preorder - Expected approximately October 2011.

Yeah, I kinda goofed up the PF threads, didn't I?
I shouldn't be allowed to have more than one browser open :)

You know, I started playing D&D 33 years ago and I've never owned a single miniature figure.  Never.
That's a tad unusual, I suppose.

Anyone who is interested in an inexpensive and interesting fanzine for Pathfinder:

Christian's other blog was fantastic for small bits of game material, but I believe he took down everything after getting toasted by some a-hole on the internet.

I saw his fanzine on ebay for $3 each. It looked great, but I haven't seen it up close yet.

*bump

I just bought these two AP chapters from Paizo at retail:

* Pathfinder #2—Rise of the Runelords Chapter 2: "The Skinsaw Murders"
* Pathfinder #4—Rise of the Runelords Chapter 4: "Fortress of the Stone Giants"

Warning: The following sentence contains a split infinitive.
Since they're selling out I want to slowly collect them.
But, have y'all seen other chapters of Runelords available at decent prices on eBay, Noble Knight, or Amazon?

NK has all of them for around $50 (for the ones you don't have yet).  Too expensive, IMO.  Full sets are going for $100-120 on Ebay.  While they are unavailable from Paizo, you can find them relatively easily on Ebay for only a bit more than retail.  #1 is the only one that seems to have a true elevated value.

Really, your best bet may be to buy a set on Ebay.

Ah, ye olde impulse buy.  It'll be the death of me yet.
I buy a lot of candy bars at grocery checkout lanes, too :)
Getting a complete set off eBay makes a lot more sense.
That did not occur to me.

And yeah, I did notice # 1 has shot up to ~$50.
Pathfinder seems to new to be a "collectible".
Or maybe I'm just old.

I wonder if that's because Paizo is releasing the AP1-6 as a "super module".
