Had a few "fun" finds recently.  Just got this copy of Catapult Run in the mail today:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

A bit of creasing on the spine but what else can you expect with a black cover?  I also ran across a first printing of The Book of Mars:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

At the price I won it for I guess they arent in much demand these days.  I would have expected to get the FASA version this cheaply but not the Image Game Company version.

And I am one step closer to finishing my Dwarfstar Games collection:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Demonlord is the last one I need.  :D

Does the copy of the Book of Mars have the shop/mailing cover? It'll ve an second identical copy of the cover over the top of the card cover, except in paper as opposed to card? Amazing find. I've only seen a few on eBy over the years.

Good catch on Catapult Run. Would have expected it to go higher, but then it wasn't reported here in the interesting items thread.

Congrads all round there.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

No mailing cover.  I did notice something a bit odd though.  There are four staples in the spine.  Two are of the typical sort you would expect to see in just about any module.  But the other two are thicker and a bit shorter (not quite a half inch in length).  Almost like the manufacturer put two "normal" size staples in and then realized that it wasnt enough to hold the book together but had to use a different size staple because they were out of the other.  :|

Turned up another fond memory today: the rulesheet for the old Grenadier Visual Dungeon, run by Dr. Allan Barwick, as well as several of the pre-generated characters.

Anyone else remember this one?

I'll need to check my copy, but there were originlly two complete cobers stapled one ofver the other (don't recall if there are two sets of staples in mine, but I have both sets of covers intact. The primary cover is card with an impressed grain to the paper. The shop/mailing cover is identical in both colour and appearance, blank on the inside, but is a printed on paper. I suspect the staples are the reminant of the mailing cover, the other staples actually originally binding the book but being hiden by the mailing/shop shelf cover.

You'll also notice the additional chapters that were omitted from the more common white cover FASA repring of the book. That's a really good find, and a cool item to have in your collection, especially at the price you got it at.

I've been having some excellent luck lately at Toronto flgs... found these in the bargain bin:  some small press goodies, a super-nice Catapult Run, & a very clean 2nd MM!

And I popped in to a comic/manga store (not expecting much), and found these gems sitting on the shelf covered in dust... 1/3 cover price!

I'm real happy with the finds and am delighted to fill some holes in the collection for reasonable prices, (plus read some things I may never have otherwise), but I'm still surprised at businesses who don't know what they have...

That Catapult Run looks near flawless.  Puts the rest of the stuff to shame.  8O

Wonderful stuff David, I am very pleased for you!   :joker:
The Hackmaster T1-4 seems to be a nice find too.
And everything in great condition.
