Life was a lot easier when the split was simply prozine vs. fanzine. *jk*

stratochamp wrote:to me the distinction is whom the publisher is: if a magazine is published by the maker of the game, i don't think of that as a fanzine.

Was White Dwarf only a fanzine bitd, in that case? (Might explain why it was so good, if so... ;) )

Following Ian's example, a company producing a prozine can also create trade newsletters, inhouse newsletters and semi-official inhouse newsletters bordering on self-referential "fanzines".
Compare;

Hmm... at least you can steam those off;

whereas if someone actually types or (even worse?) writes on the 'zine you're kinda stuffed. :x

At least the latter two ain't fanzines?

Dungeoneer: I have Tadashi Ehara & kerry lloyd copies.
Strategic Review: I have Kevin Blume copy.
Dragon: i have Al Hammack copy.
Space gamer: i have TSR copies (they probably subscribed to everything).
Domesday books: i have Rob Kuntz copies.
but i don't have any personal copies of anything by Arneson or Barker; those are pretty neat David.

I think I sold that set a few years back. Has three signiatures instead of four? That's why it stands out to me. A rarity amongst the modern uncommons.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Ian, should these sets have four signatures vs. three? Who's is missing?

Thanks,
Jorge

Mac Golden's signature is missing from that one.  Maybe he had to go to the bathroom and missed a few.

I wouldn't worry about it. I had two sets, 77 and 81 I think. One had three sigs and one had four and they both sold for around £25, so I think you did okay.

Hey everyone,

So I've been collecting MERP for years (since the late 80's) and never really picked up the rest of the Rolemaster series.

Just got these delivered today:

I know they're common items but nice to have an instant collection. :)

Seller packed them pretty well and they are all in nice shape too.

Best regards,

Ronald

Judges Guild Lot arrived today...

Most are 1st Prints

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Other than perhaps the Character Codex, Nothing really rare or expensive.

(have seen the CC's sell for well over $40)

No issues except as noted below

Castle Book 1 - 1st Print VF

Character Codex - 1st Print  VF  no pages missing

Citadel of Fire - 1st Print Good (Damaged Cover)

Frontier Forts of Kelnore - 1st Print VG (Small rip top of front cover)

Gen Con IX Dungeons - 4th Print Fine (front cover folded)

Island Book 1 - 1st Print VF  (dirt stain top left on front cover)

Village Book 1 - 1st Print F-VF (bent corner front cover)

Village Book 1 - 1st Print Good (Damaged Cover)

Ready Reference Sheets (Book) 2nd Ed, 3rd Print (1st printing in book form) Good (Cover Fold, cover torn, writing [stats] on last blank page)

This was my 1st copy of the 1st print RRSB

I was mostly bidding on the auction hoping to snag the Character Codex as it looked clean from the listing.

It is VERY NICE and my other 1st Print copy (not as nice) will be sold now, along with most of the other items above.

Nice little spread there.
You must be pretty much complete by now?

Depends on what you meant by complete...
I do not seek out to collect Judges Guild except the Fantasy Systems.
I do have some of the other systems, but not due to chasing them.

Even for Fantasy related JG:  In the sense that complete (for me) is not every single printing of every different item...
For common items, I have been complete for a long time now.
For Every Printing of the more common Fantasy items... yes close to complete.

Of the less common items I am Missing:
Most of the Catalogs, partly because I have never actively chased them.
A few Journal issues (I have a list)
The first 3 issues (Including the different prints) of Dungeoneer
Issue 14 of the Pegasus Magazine (GenCon 1999)
Several of the Adventure Packs, including the Deluxe Fantasy Package...
(I do not know if anyone has one of those...)

Complete Mailing Installments... I have almost none of them.
I have only the single most common of the original Mailer Envelope Installments.
Contents, certainly... but not the Envelopes, etc.
