they did a nice job with that shrinkwrap by the way. they are all still wrapped in tight crisp shrink. they still smell new....

i got the beasts, men & gods items today including the tournament scenario "ice tower of the frozen wind". it's published by imagination unlimited, ltd. rather than the game masters (who are listed as the publishers of bmg). it was run at fool con v, and the last page mentions that it is the limited fool con vi edition (1st printing march 1983). inked in is #17/30 and signed by the author, Bill Underwood. 72 pages plus a cardstock cover page 3-hole punched and put inside a soft binder. an 8.5x14 character sheet is also included in the back. there was clearly great attention paid as part of the creation process. many rooms/encounters will have 8 different possible choices by the players delineated with the consequences (and xp) listed for each. one day i will read it from a playability perspective, but the layout looks very interesting.

i had acquired Beasts, Men & Gods at Gencon 2010. i looked tonight and it is the October 1980 first print published by The Game Masters. Well the lot i got the other day had, in addition to the ice tower of the frozen wind scenario, a fair condition copy of the 2nd print of BMG from January 1982. well inside this 2nd print is stated, copyright 1980 Imagination Unlimited, Ltd., the same name as the ice tower scenario. since my earlier post had mentioned that The Game Masters had been the publisher (which they are for the 1st pr), I wanted to clear up any confusion i might have caused.

Never saw this before, though it is unlikely a rarity, and I probably paid more than it was worth.

But I liked the layout and theme of this belt buckle enough to hit the BIN last night.



When it arrives, it will go into the collection display box along with my TSR Buckles.

Oh, the dopplegangers are there, believe me. You just can't tell which ones they are until it's too late.

I was looking through some boxes that had not been unpacked from the move and found something I did not even remember I had.. the Dr. Who box set, but in it, there was Arduin Dungeon #3. Yay, minor score.

Of course, in retrospect, I remember buying that Dr. Who at "the world's largest yard sale" in Buffalo, but did not recall it had "special" contents.
