Well it finally arrived with a couple of other listings I bought from the same seller.

From this E-Bay lot I recently purchased.

** eBay auction listing blocked.  Please enable cookies in your browser for this site and for eBay! **

The lot consisted of mostly loose papers and other items in two manila folders and a 3 ring binder.

Character Codex is in decent shape, though a few pages were removed at the perforation (I think all are present though).

My first copy (any printing and this one is a 1st print).

The Citadel of Fire is VF to NM.

It is a First Edition, 2nd Print.

My first copy (any printing)

Plaag was right about the adventure book at the top between the Codex and Citadel being a module removed from an issue of Dragon Magazine.

Good eye Plaag, and I never doubted you of course...  8)

Both of the Monsters & Treasure Assortment Sets are first prints and in very good condition.

Unfortunately there was no Set Three present.

Image

Also found a 1st print Dungeon Geomorphs Set One...

Unfortunately the guys USED THEM!

Is it all cut all up and taped to notebook paper with additional dungeon levels with detailed room notes by the DM.

Looks like a fun dungeon to me.

There were some full sized Judges Guild Maps as well.

A Full set of City State of the Invincible Overlord (2nd Print Maps with the copyright date),

The Judges four-piece and Players single piece map complete and all are in very nice condition.

Also there was a Judges and Players copies of the Thunderhold Maps... which brings me to the following items...

A full set of the small J Maps: Hole punched but still in very good condition.

Not all that long ago, I paid something like $36 JUST for these same Four sheets of paper...

And I was fairly pleased I got them for that much back then too, as they are pretty hard to find.

Image

A full set of the I Maps, heavily written on and crinkled too; obviously well used…

Image

These next item linked below was partly shown at the bottom of the single picture in the listing.

They are First Print Judges Guild Judges Chart Cards.

Never seen them in person before.

No NOT the thin sheets of paper that have the Judges Charts on them, but heavy stock cards.

Three Cards, Double Sided (Six Charts in all).

The VERY HARD TO FIND Judges Screens.

Image

VERY Heavy wear and heavy staining as well.

Still a nice find, even if not in good condition.

Overall, I was starting to become a little disappointed, though at this point I have NO DOUBT I paid a good price for what is listed above.

Actually a really good price.

That is until I finally dug down to the back end of the 3-ring binder and saw this.

Image

Unfortunalety, it is nearly worthless as the metal clips are not present... 8O

HOLD ON A SECOND!!

I think I just found ONE of those little metal clip thingies...

Looks like it was used to create a home made spinning room puzzle dungeon level...

Had a chance to play this game for the first time last year at the North Texas RPG Convention.
It was a LOT of FUN!

Circus Maximus, 2nd Edition Box Set
Complete even with the mail in card.
Very Fine Box with minor bits of shelf wear only.
NM Contents, none of the play sheets on the tear off pad have been used and all are present (best I can tell) with unpunched counters.

The unpunched part is Great and Sort of a bummer at the same time.  :?
I want to play it... but I also do not want to punch the counters.   :(

I think the counters are gonna have to get punched out of the sheet...

Yes, good idea, now trying to figure out how to make then heavier than paper though.
Perhaps cut pieces of cardboard and glue the paper to them?

You could also laminate them, John.

Some printers can take heavier card stock, though not anything as thick as the board AH used for counters. You would need to leave the alternate paper eject bay (or whatever the correct term is) open so the stock stays flat rather than curling in a loop.

I played the crap out of this game....solo.

I simplified the movement rules just a bit and I made races last only two laps...with 10 teams entered in each race.

Then, I made a house rule that every charioteer must drive the heavy chariot with the spiked wheels.

And...every charioteer must make every possible attack.

Then roll dice!

I gave every charioteer in each faction a name....

....and I kept stats on how many races a character survived and/or won, with stats for wrecks and kills on rival characters and how many horses he lost and/or killed.

I decided that 10 races constituted a successful career and a driver was allowed to retire as either a champion or a veteran, depending on whether or not he had won any of his races.

I remember...Gladius of Kos, of the Green faction, died in his 10th race due to an unlikely crash on the last lap.  He was forced to run over a crashed chariot and got dragged by his leather straps.  It was very sad.

A dude named Pale Rider, of the White faction, was the first to survive all ten races, followed by Grand Champion Flavious Luminous of the Red Faction.

I still consider getting Circus Maximus out again and giving it another go.   :D

Circus Maximus is now a con game at NTRPG con, with a giant sized board and elimination rounds this year....you need to make it out this way someday!

Yep, as I stated above, that NTRPGCON Circus Maximus game is the only reason I bid on this box set.
Colton and I had a lot of fun playing the game against Tim Kask and others.
Until then, we had never played it.

My thoughts exactly. I just scan them, print them, and then use some spray clue and attach the paper to some thin board (i.e. from the back of a note pad), then cut them out - it works great!

Thus, keeping the unpunched sheets unpunched!

I concur on the spray glue with color copies. I use comic book backing boards, and a paper cutter to slice them up. Been using the same can of 3M aerosol over a dozen years for unpunched games I want to play, although you've got to keep the nozzle from plugging up after each time it's used. I do however find that some color copies don't have the resolution necessary to legibly reproduce the fine print.

Best way to help keep the spray adhesive can free of clogs is to hold it upside down and spray until nothing comes out but the propellant.

I wouldn't have bought these off ebay, given their going rate, but I was very glad to have spotted them at the local flgs - basically new old-stock, .. even happier when I returned for their annual rpg sale and got them for $50!  I've always considered myself just a casual CoC collector, but am finding I enjoy the line more and more :)

Thanks to Historian and Jason W for helping me price these.

Nice.  That's definitely a good deal!  Countdown is just a pain to get - too much good reputation so it is hard to pry out of owners' hands (all deserved though).

Areas of interest/knowledge: Harn, WFRP, Ars Magica, anything BRP based such as CoC, Runequest, Pendragon and all their related games
