Sacrilege!  This thread has exceed 100 pages and has been immediately locked down.  If this happens again I'll probably be forced to hand over admin duties to someone who doesn't want them.

New thread started.

Say this once, back on page 108 of a thread somewhere....

Issue 8 of Vortex and 15 Dungeon magazines at 73 CENTS per book is a great deal (That includes shipping costs).

No matter where you buy them.

That would be cheap even at a garage sale at your next door neighbors house.

And I did not have any of them before either.

Happy buyer here.

Looking forward to many fun hours of reading down the road.

Vortext isn't rare, but putting together the set of nine issues wouldn't be trivial either.  That's a good find.

Badmike had a copy of Vortex #8 at NTX for $2 IIRC:  it was still there on Sunday....

I finally completed my Pagan Publishing collection with the Courting Madness win @
** expired/removed eBay auction **

It was a bit more than I'd wanted to pay, but the timing was good, so....

I was quite happy to add this to my collection:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 500wt_1154

The last one, suffering from severe mold, sold for £32.55.

The pages in my copy are clean and look quite new, save for a few dog ears and the lightly rusted staples.  The map is in quite good conditon as well.  A bit less tatty than the owner noted.

Best,

Paul

Nice win Paul.  Don't usually see these anywhere close to mint condition.  Hell, you don't normally see them.  :)   Awesome adventure....enjoy it.

Envy sets in again.
I saw that one and had placed a small bid early, but knew I could not really compete for it at the time, so I never even tried really.
Nice one Paul and congrats. :)

Yep, I have them already.

Good cover on most of them, four mags are more warn (Sellers spelling) than the othes, exactly as stated in the listing.

Otherwise they are in fine condition or better.

I would grade them all (even the Warn Mags) as easily worth 99 cents Each, and I got them ALL for that much.

A bunch of fine reading materials for months to come.

I gave the seller a well deserved Five Stars and a glowing remark...

Though I feel almost guilty at my luck with the price I paid.

If that's the copy I won last year, then it didn't end up being mold, just a dust/sun shadow on the map.  I might be thinking of a different one though.

Thank you King, Gnat.

TheHistorian:  I bought an RPGA1 from a seller in the UK--a very nice guy--and he told me he was putting his Starstone up, but it had mould.  He was either mistaken or you bought a different copy.  Either way, you avoided the dreaded m-word. ;)

All the best,

Paul

Hmm, sounds like a different copy.  I bought mine last June, if that helps.

Walked into Half Price Books this morning.  Looked through eight shelves of garbage before spying a Witchfire Trilogy Collected Edition for $15.  The guy that originally bought it most likely paid the full $35 price for it and then sold it to HPB for a dollar or two.  :D

Umnnn... Which HPB are you going to?
Must be a store with no Gaming geek on staff.
All of the ones I go have books like that at twice cover or higher.

Northwest Highway flagship store.  Only HPB that I know of with more than 8 shelves dedicated to RPG's.
