I got use out of the Lankhamr books bc I had already created a world around it's mythos from Deites.

That said, I'd like to add the class supplement books...retch

I don't.... It hurts too much to see so much that I want and not have the money for it. Anyone try not eating so you would have money for games? I think that's my next step. Does anyone want to buy my damn m:tg cards?

Fortunately I have a wife you lets me pretty much buy what I like as long as I pay the $700+ a month for her horses board/supps/shoeing/etc ( and of course the "normal" bills ). Good thing I don't really need  copies( or more copies ) of most rare things so there's not many $1000+ paypal payments....doubt she would be to happy on that  8O

I missed this thread the first time around.....I have to say, I just can't figure out the binders. It's hard to believe that something as poorly constructed as these ever passed muster in R&D....

My least favourite product is NOT the dragonlance stuff....those mods were AWESOME when it came to screwing with the players!

"OK, Sturm, you die at the end of this one, you know that right?"
"What? What do you mean?"
"Well, that's what happens in the book."
"But this is the game!"
"Sorry, dude, better luck next time."
"Geez...well, can I play somebody else after this, then? How 'bout the dwarf?"
"Sorry, no man, you're dead."
"But nobody is playing the dwarf. Nobody ever plays the dwarf..."
"No."
"But!"
"That's it. You're dead. You can watch, though. And the pretzel bowl could use a refill. Thanks man. You're a sport."

DL was good for about three of those! But the best part was making the guy who played Gilthanas make out with the dragon in the stream.

I find it hard to hate any product from the good ol' days, but the RA Salvatore novels and the whole cliquey grunge stupid ass trenchcoat mafia double scimitar drow ranger thing still rots my balls.

Coming up second, everything ever created after 1st edition AD&D.

Ditto on the WSG and DSG.   Absolute crap.

I'd go along with your second point, with the exception of Goodman Games and some of Necromancer Games' stuff (like Necropolis).

Come on! YOU remember! The Gilthanas character HAD to fall in love with the silver dragon. IT SAID SO in the book! The blue one.

"I have to WHAT?"
" You heard me. The Silver Dragon/Elf Pornstar has initiated her reproductive cycle. Apparently her biological clock is ticking. Roll your saving throw or take 5-20 from crushing damage."
"Mom!!!....." 8O

I didn't like Oriental Adventures very much, either. It seemed to disintegrate as soon as I brought it home. Overall, I found a lot of orange spines had binding trouble.

Well I meant by TSR or Wallet$ of the Co$t, but yeah, Necromancer and Goodman do some okay(ish) stuff.  Goodman sells the look and the look only, though.  There's nothing really old-school about their mods once you get past the surface (IMO).

Me wife lets me get whatever I want, and that's the damn problem. If she doesn't control my spending, who in the 9 Hells will? The cat? The damn cat keeps trying to convince me to buy the 30th Anniversary set!

And on the topic of bad TSR stuff...

I was so disappointed with the Menzoberranzan box set. WTF is with the damn portraits? And the map of the city... damn bad acid tripp (or hallucinary terrain with a splash of prismatic spray).

Let's be honest here. The reason I stopped buying Dungeons & Dragons stuff was so many of the products started to have high volumes of fluff in them. I missed out on some good things because I hated feeling taken. I'm this way to the day when it comes to RPG material.

That's EXACTLY why I love the old stuff so much. It is so bare bones and to the point. It is all about creativity and really, as kids, whether you are aware of it or not, one of the best things is to be trusted and who was more trusting than Gygax and those guys? It was all about "here's an idea, now go make it your own."

The DL adventure that had Elmore's 'Teka takes a Bath" (full nude) pen & ink drawing has to be one of the worst...

What, you don't have that one?
Well, I have a copy of the illo, at least.
No, I'm Evil, I don't share.

No, I am currently not working (at a real job anyway) so I check probably 10-15 times a day. Maybe it's because I'm fairly new here, or maybe it's because my inner geek has finally been let free, who knows.

Worst product ever? So far, my vote goes to anything Spelljammer related. Guess by the number of books and modules I see in original shrink many others felt the same way!  8O
