I never heard of these "pint size" D&D books.  What's the story with these?  When did TSR issue these?

That's Pipswich. He's a member here.
They were published for the silver anniversary by twenty first century games, and the DMG is by far the hardest to find. There's also a stack of dinky boxed sets, the dragonlance modules and about 13 hardbacks, all that size. Someone could probably point you to a website or a wiki with more info.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Around 2000, I think.

There were also two boxed sets covering all the DL modules.  I think that's everything.

I picked up the Dragonlance sets... Liked the way they were setup as a large book with the 8 mini modules inside when you opened it.

I also have the Basic and Advanced sets, which I like, and the Dark Sun set, which I'm still not sure why I got since, I never was a big fan of Dark Sun.

I believe I saw 3 to 5 miniature DMG's at Half Price Books in Tukwila, Washington, just over a week ago.  They were in a small bin mounted on a shelf next to the RPG area.

I recently traded one for a (less than NM) copy of L3.  No idea if that's typical or if I just found someone who really wanted it.

I thought I recall an Acaeum member claiming there was also a mini Myth Drannor Box set.  Ive never seen one in the market but seems like there was some thread on the existence of this near unique item.

Anyone recall anything like this?

That might have been me. I thought I had a complete set of these, but a Scandinavian collector got in touch to point out that I was missing the Myth Drannor set. Not being convinced that it existed, I asked for a picture, which he was kind enough to provide. I've never seen or heard of another copy in the wild, but there is photographic evidence that at least one of these exists.

How do we know that's a mini?

Legitimate question, kidding aside.

The books are thicker and bound similarly to the other mini-boxed set books.  The box is also thicker proportionally to the normal-sized box set.

There's also the Wizards of the Coast sheet, which is not in the original.

I'm sure we've seen a piccie of it lined up up someone's shelf.
Maybe a different set/owner. I'd have to go hunting.

Was just rereading this thread and saw that you were the owner of the Myth Drannor mini box set.  Very curious where this came from?  Was it a proto type never released in retail?  Never seen one.

I understood it to have been released, but limited distribution to one or possibly two Mediterranean countries?
