Looks like more illegal PDFs, since The Dragon, Space Gamer, White Dwarf, and wargaming books are available through his downloading service.  I also see GDW and still more SPI games.

No. The magazine was never made digital. TSR would have done it as they took over the last couple issues. So, no. It is not legit.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

The guys must have a pretty good business at selling illegal PDFs, etc.  He also has lots of RPG pdfs, other magazines, etc:

Wonder if Wizbro would be interested in this site?

Talk about ramping up his little PDF empire.  Anyone know who owns the rights to FASA or WEG stuff?

It looks like Red Brick Ltd still has some of the rights (Earthdawn). Not sure about Shadowrun and Battletech/Mechwarrior. Maybe Weisman still has the rights? Wikipedia mentions he teaches at USC

I believe Shadowrun is owned by Catalyst, since there is a 4th edition that still seems to be in print, and coming out with new stuff...

Now that I think about it, Fanpro might own some rights.  I think they were reprinting stuff or making new stuff.

I've got the ball moving a little bit.  Some of the pdfs have been removed from sale.

I'm not sure who would care about the MERP or TFT or other FASA and WEG lines.  Maybe the Tolkien estate for MERP?

Ok, so I have never done this before, but I am pretty sure this is not legit.  Can someone tell me how to report to Ebay, or if this is not a violation.

Thanks,

Reported.

Neal, after "Seller Info" and "Other Item Info" on the top right of the listing, you will see options to "print" and to "report item".  Click on "report item" and the process is quick and simple.

Great, thanks for the info.  I searched around on Ebay's compliance page for 15 minutes and  the closest I came was a list of companies who were on some secret copyright protected list.  I gave up after that.

This guy has been running for at least 5 years. Can't be sure if exactly under the same URL, but the site format is identical to one I used some 5 years ago, and at the time, I found the site off the back of a flyer placed in with a copy of the ARES Archive I bought from source in Oz.

At the time I was under the impression that the guy selling the ARES and claiming he had the rights to SPI and other stuff, was also the guy selling PDFs online. He was also the guy wo put me in touch with my source for the WD DVDs, and while the backstory appeared legit at the time, and my correspondence with GW did not result in a flat denial that the product was legit, but merely a cease and desist selling e-mail, it is possible that there is an operation going on on a sizeable scale somewhere down under. There is an organisation called Imprint Multimedia who's logo appears on the ARES, SPI, and White Dwarf jewel case inserts, but I have not been able to find the company listed in Oz. But, I do see that the very last line on the website says 'Contact Imprint' and links to an e-mail. All anonymous.

As regards FASA, the IP must be in someone's hands, as the rights to Battletech were licensed or sold to Catalyst Games and/or WhizKids in one seqiuence or other, and there are three parties involved in the negotiations with the disputed IP holder Macross over the 'unseen' elements (those Fasa ripped off of Japanese culture). So, at the very least it shows there is a body responsible for Fasa's IP out there somewhere.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Anyone think there is a chance this could actually be the copyright holder?

Appears to be only about 20 miles from the noted place of publication, so I wonder:

I asked.  He says he is the copyright holder and that he has recently updated the original module:

Yes. The original paper version was published in 1994 and I recently updated it to be compatible with the Open Gasme Content d20 gaming rules.

Thanks!!

I bought a copy.  :D
