Anyone going? I'll be there.
Like the Origins thread, it would be cool to see who can make it, even just a lunch or dinner meet and greet.
And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

We'll be there. The Con is about 20 min. from our house
. Meeting would be cool if just for a few beers or some grub.

I have been slacking off lately on the collecting, just too busy at the moment. I will try to make it again this year.

Oh, hell, yeah. I haven't missed one for about a dozen years.
Sadly, there's no time to fit both gaming and collecting, so some good buys are missed at the auction.

We'll be there. It has been 2 years since I last went. Long over due to return.
I'll miss the Hooter & Safehouse nights that we enjoyed in WI. =(
Hopefully there will be some cool spots nearby the new Convention Center.
[Edit. Sigh. Someday I might learn how to spell. =)]

The Safehouse was great...before it was discovered by the gaming commuity, that is. Our gaming group first went to Gen Con in 1983 at Wisconsin Parkside. A couple years later it moved to Milwaukee and the city was pretty much a dump. We explored (Wednesday) and found used book stores (which were mostly "adult" bookstores) and the like. The city was pretty shitty. Then we found the Safe House - awesome! A few years later it became gamer infested and that was that...On the plus side, the city was on a huge rebound and other restaurants and bars were opening so the general loss of our secret, and extremely cool, restaurant/bar wasn't such a loss.
I still have a box full of souvenier glasses and pewter beer mugs...much to my wife's complete disdain.

It looks like we are gonna have several Acaeum members at the convention. We should try and pick a time and location to meet. It is still a little ways off, so we don't need to get specific now.
But as you guys get your schedules (for those playing events), post general times of availability. I am only gonna be at the con for a couple days (haven't set in stone yet) but I will not being playing any events.
I think meeting at Grodog's booth might be best. I didn't go to Indy last year so I have no clue as to good pubs, etc...

I didn't do last year either (wanted to let them work the kinks out of the con, which was a good idea it seems).
One of my cousins lived in Indy for awhile, I'll ping her for ideas on places to go/eat/etc.
We can definitely use the booth as a rendezvous (sp?). I'll post the booth number as soon as we get it (should be next week or so).

The DW booth # is 2025, and we're at the west end of the hall, near the open gaming tables and one row over from the autograph line. For a more exact position, you can look for us on the Exhibitor Hall map at
The page you were looking for doesn't exist (404)
(the .pdf at
http://www.gencon.com/files/Indy04/Exhibit-Hall.pdf
is much easier to read, btw).

Ben, the
newbie
collector, will be there at my first con since Origins in 2001. Thankfully I'll be doing a ton of gaming, which should keep me from spending too much time "Oooohing" and "Ahhhinng" over rare treasures meant for my betters.
If there is a get together, I'd certainly do my best to come, and pick up some tips from those in the know.

Hey,
Just wondering if everyone still wants to meet. Saturday afternoon(maybe around 1:00 or 2:00) at Allan's booth? If there is a better time or day for everyone please post.
Restaurants within walking distance:
-Subway
-White Castle
-Shula's(steak house $$$)
-Ram(brewhouse)
-Rock Bottom(brewhouse)
-Alcatraz(brewhouse)
-P.F. Chang's China Bistro
-Circle Center Mall Food Court
-an authentic Irish Pub called Clauda's(I think)
Of coarse there are plently of other restaurants, just can't think of them right now.

I might be out of action...
Had a closing rescheduled and now I am under the gun to finish the damn house by friday, instead of two weeks from then. Trying to rearrange schedule so I can get there over the weekend. Will post asap.
I really want to go, especially since I haven't been in a couple years now.

Tadashi and I ate dinner at Alcatraz tonight, and it was good/decent. Neither of us are likely to be able to get away from the booth until after the dealer's hall closes at 6pm....

If anybody could snag some of the promo Legacy of the Green Regent cards they are handing out for free and sent them to me, I'd be eternally grateful... (or, if you can find somebody selling their later series ones for cheap).
