There's a shelf over on the right, about three down, that's pretty empty. My stuff could go in there.

(No, really)

Wow, thanks for all the great compliments guys. We got the idea from the "Monster House" show that used to be on Discovery or TLC. I'll try to answer all the questions in this post:

-As for "tours" during GenCon we really won't have much free time this year as we are sharing a booth with a fellow Acaeum member and between that and the auction there is only time for sleep : ) If you get in town early you are welcome to check it out.

-We are actually playing our first game the Tuesday after setting up the GenCon booth. A friend is flying in from Hawaii and taking us through X5. We may have a couple seats open if you are in town that early or a fellow hoosier : )

-The shelves and beams are made of high grade pine and stained. The ceiling is made of pine siding that is normally used to make a house look like a cabin. Figured it would look like a quarter sawn planks from below.

-The walls were a fresh layer of drywall with cast(fake) stone glued on with real mortar between the joints. I believe the brand was Modulo which is owned by Owens Corning. It may be discontinued but there are other brands.

-The beams are hollow and build from pine boards.

-The portcullis was made of 1"x2"s that I pounded with a hammer for texture then painted with "Old Iron" textured paint. It opens like a normal door.

Sweet work and thanks for sharing. :)
Great to see someone else who's taken the time to get things organised /and/ in a creative/atmospheric manner!

Well Fuck me!!!

Of course you have made a horrendous mistake as I see no anti-thief applications.  I want that artwork so bad.  Really fantastic job.

As a fellow Hoosier, I would love to play in the game if you need another player.  However, you really should weigh the pro's and con's as to whether you want me to know exactly where this Utopia is.

I'm in awe.  And now I have some inspiration for finishing my basement in my new house (whenever I find the time - still got to put the yard in first).  Great job!

that's just awesome guys! you have raised the game room bar significantly. you know what you guys should do: whoever buys the most stuff at your booth this year (or the two who buy the most....or three...whatever) get to come over & play in a D&D game at your keep er, i mean house.

I had the privilege of seeing the room while under construction early this spring.

It was freaking cool then...now it is just plain awesome!  :D

This is absolutely fabulous! One must resist the waves of jealousy that course upon seeing this haven of gaming!

However, it also gives me an out, whenever my wife might complain about my own game collection taking up space... I can simply point to these pictures and say, "See honey, it ain't so bad here!"

Hey Martin,
You are in the game. Will PM you when the time is nailed down.

Actually there are plenty of anti-theft applications. I'm off work and well armed  :)  not to mention we keep a loaded ballista poined toward the door with a string between the handle and trigger. The room is at the top of a 300' tower with smooth sides.

Again thanks for all the praise everyone.

Glad I'm not the only one who does this.  The muttering volume has decreased considerably so thank you again for sharing!

Great job guys, especially that portcullis!

What are the dimensions of the room and back closet area?
