Heather gave birth to our son, Ethan Scott Grohe, on Saturday, 10 April, 2004 at 6:30pm PDT! Ethan weighed 7 pounds, 4.5 ounces, and was 20 inches long.

We are all doing very well, and have been looking forward to buying Ethan his first plush Cthulhu I'll put some pictures up on my web site once the new accounts are set up/etc. (new host), probably in the next week or two.

Congratulations!  Get him into collecting soon, because it's always the crap that you had as a kid that ends up being worth something.

Congrats! Make sure he is exposed to RPG's as early as possible. I actually debated using Dark and Hidden ways as a catch towel when my son was born. His favorite cartoons? Fummer the Barbarit (Thundarr, I own the whole series on DVD) and The Tick. The wife hates it, but it is EXTREMELY important if he is to develop cutting-edge roleplaying skills later in life.

Allan,

Congrats from up the street as well.  It's a blast having kids!

Just think, in just a few months you can use him as a 550mm scale miniature of a Pudge Giant and terrorize your Greyhawk campaign!  Just set him down on the game table and watch him gobble up your characters (and dice, and markers, and notes..)!

So... I guess this puts us getting together out until NEXT year at this point?

Talk to you soon!

-Jon

Congratulations. Just got back from taking my three little kobolds to Florida for Easter break. Of course, mine are all out of diapers, formula, bottles, wipes...God help you and your bank account.

PS: Got my youngest (who is now four) one of the Cthulhus (stuffed) when she was a baby. Caught my wife trying to dump it several times. 8O

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Grodog-  Congratulations!!  I have a one year-old and another on the way.  It's the most aggravating and yet rewarding adventure you'll ever embark on.  Have fun and keep the dice out of reach until he's at least a year old!

Dude,

How can you post those pictures proudly as a father?

He only rolled a 10 on 4d6!!!!

I expect more from Grohe stock.  At least a 17 on 4d6.  I can understand why you aren't breaking him in on d4s yet... too poky.  But I'd expect a few d12s and d20s by now... I mean he's almost sitting up!

But then again, if the little fella's having trouble mastering the d6 rolls you may not want to push him too hard.

I'm glad you posted these Grodog.  It looks like we may have caught this in time.  I think regular attendance at gaming sessions and slowly introducing him to the full polyhedral spectrum and proper die rolling techniques, he'll be rolling box cars and scoring crits by the time he's out of diapers. :)

LOL! :D  I was going to make some crack about him wanting to use one of the UA rolling methods, but didn't ;)

My only real mission at GenCon (other than to scour the OOP vendors and to sell DW stuff) is to find a full set of matching dice for Ethan:  he'll have his d4s, d8s, d10s, d12s, and d20s soon! :D

I'll be sure to mention this to his mother ;->
