Just got in Dragon 319 today, and they announced that issue 320 will have a big retrospective of D&D as a hobby/game for the 30th anniversary.  It's going to feature a review  of some old rare items such as the D&D beach towel!  Could be interesting for us to check out, though it will probably feature many not-so-rare items to us such as the supermodules, etc.
The next issue of Dungeon will feature a total reworking of WG5 Mordenkainen's Magnificent Adventure by Rob Kuntz.  Needless to say I'm looking forward to May.   :D

There is apparently going to be a 30th anniversary box set out later this year too.  Maybe another goodie like L3?

And if they do, they're going to get snapped up real fast.
And in five years, some folks will be selling the shrinkwrap only from the set on eBay...  and iluvdnd will still be there to buy it.
:D

We're now up to 200 members for the forum!  Woohoo!

I wonder if the Acaeum will get a mention for D&D collecting in next month's Dragon.  And the issue will perhaps stimulate more interest in the hobby.  In other words, we could be seeing more newbayers in the coming months...

Here's an interesting bit of trivia -- we actually had an ad in Dragon #300.  I didn't notice any additional site viewership as a result of it, unfortunately.

Now, when Slashdot mentioned the site in an article about two years ago, the server nearly crashed.  About 50,000 hits in three days.  Heh.  For one shining moment, I felt like Yahoo.

I'm going to have to look back at Dragon #300 for that ad, I can't recall it.  Was it under the Gamer's Guide section?

I think I found that Slashdot thread here:

If I remember rightly, it was on either the last page or next to last page.  Can't miss it.  Has a picture of me dressed up in a wizard's robe casting a fireball.

Now, if I did that, what would be the incentive for everyone to dig out their Dragon #300 to check it out?  :)  It'd be nice if that damn ad could generate SOME sort of interest.
