Thanks guys!

I really have been reading this sight like crazy trying to catch up for the few years I haven't been collecting (since 9/11/01 actually). I lived in NYC during that time; I worked a decent job around then and was casually eBaying and occasionally buying TSR stuff still. After 9/11 my girlfriend and I (now my lovely wife) decided to take-off to Massachusetts to cool off....

Well 7 years later and I'm back n New York, I own a house and I'm a landlord!  So here I am unpacking and I come across my old boxes of D&D stuff... So naturally I'm thumbing through these volumes and I remembered this site from a while ago and now I'm hooked all over again!

And BOY! This shit has gotten EXPENSIVE!!! Crikey!

All I need now is a small group of gamers here in Brooklyn to start playing OD&D and 1st edition with!

Cheers guys, this site is invaluable, I'm glad I can be a part...

Now... which printing is this Bio One...?

Hello, Sean Holland here, 40 years old and a gamer for 30 of those.  I used to be a much more serious collector than I am now but I still have a fairly impressive collection of various D&D items and RPGs.

I work at a FLGS (Tyche's Games in Athens, GA) and occasional do some writing for the industry (I worked on both the World's Largest Dungeon and the World's Largest City for example).

Glad to be here.

Hey, Cheky!

You shouldn't worry.  Your English is better than even some English speaking Ebay sellers...from England.

How do you say "Ogre" in Spanish?

(Welcome, by the way!   :D )

Hi all, I'm Muddyboots.
I guess I'm going to skew the age trend a little at early 40's. I've been playing D&D since the first Monster Manual came out. I actually started with the Pamphlets. I have active 1E and 3.5E campaigns (players ranging from 12-78.) In the real world I split my time between professional Tech Theater and Mountain Guiding, and writing. I also do some Iron age living history. I didn't know I was a collector until I bought a "new" 1st printing PHB. I found the Acaeum and discovered that I have a treasure trove. I really enjoy this site! Thanks to aia for sending me to the intro thread!

Been there, Done that.

No, I mean in the REAL world.

Hi, Muddyboots! Welcome, from one theatre professional to another :)

Tech isn't my strong suit, but I direct and stage manage quite a bit...and I don't think you're skewing the ages at all, most of the people I've met here are in their late-30s or early to mid-40s, so you're right in there...

Enjoy this site; it's the best D&D collector's site I've found thus far, and I am glad to be a small voice in the forums.

Absolutely - we are mostly older here.  I think 30s to 40s (with a few exceptions either side).  Welcome.  :D

A few Acaeum members are in their 500s, but that's mainly the elves.

Welcome to The Acaeum Leigh.  Glad to see another comic book collector on the forum.  If you are interested, some of us chat every Friday around 7 or 8 pm central standard time.  The conversations vary but often include comic books.  Just last week Badmike and I were talking about the latest issues of Green Lantern. You can find the thread with the link here.

Unofficial Acaeum Online Live Chat

And I just noticed that you are in the UK so that might be a bit late for you but a few of our other UK members will get on the chat a bit earlier.
